In the middle of an unbelievable heatwave at the chateau, we start transforming one of the outbuilding's into Lalande's long awaited shop...
The Chateau Diaries Episode 312 ✨🏰✨
Escape to the chateau with ’The Chateau Diaries’ 🏰
This channel follows the adventures of chatelaine Stephanie in her French 16th century home, the Chateau de Lalande, in the heart of rural France ❤️
We share our life in this ancient chateau in the heart of the French countryside, and show you the diy, renovations, crafts, cooking and gardening that are needed to bring a home like this to life!
A very special thank you to all of you who have become Patrons of the Chateau de Lalande. You have made The Chateau Diaries one of the top 400 Patreon accounts in the world, and have transformed not only our lives here, but the future of this beautiful chateau! I’m overwhelmed by your kindness and generosity. On behalf of this beautiful chateau that will continue to survive and flourish because of you, thank you!!!

I would love to see a video of what a stay as a guest at Lalande looks like. Is there a schedule? What sort of activities go on near the chateau that they entertain themselves with? How long are guests usually there?

The b&b is only open Thurs to Sunday. The two gites can be booked for longer as they are self catering. Lalande is very rural and prior to Covid I think guests only stopped there for a night or two on the way to somewhere else. Now its a destination for Chateau Diaries and Chateau DIY fans

😉 Yes, that is a hoot. As was seeing his expression😳 when Vegan popped up in relation to the sweet treats🍌. Amaury is so adorable. It's lovely that he's taken on the daily watering💦 project too. 😃 It's always exciting when ppl discover the satisfaction of puttering outdoors in a 🌳garden🌾. To each his/her own on 💪labor saving devices. Like Nick-the -tree-surgeon with his brilliant firewood🔥 splitter. 🤗 Consider myself a gadget girl. Love spiralizers, choppers, mandolins, etc. for chips🍟 , other 🥕veggies🥒, & 🥚hard boiled eggs. Also in ❤️love with "set it & forget it" small kitchen appliances like instant pots, slow cookers, rice cookers, air fryers, sous vide, bread machines, mixers, blenders, ice cream makers, & so on. 😎 Plus〰️in LA w/o an air conditioner〰️ a lot of those gizmos also keep you from having to overheat 🥵 the house by turning on the oven when the mercury rises🌡. 💚 Bridget from Cali ☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)

Of course my perspective is outside of the actual interactions and relationships at Lalande and I wish Marie the best. I just miss the unique sparkle she contributed to the community at Lalande. Miss the flowers and the creative meals and the self awareness workshops and the rambles for wildflowers. Best wishes to everyone. Now I see how a childhood playing with Playmobil is perfect training for life as a chatelaine. Many new chateaux ventures seem to begin with 1. Assign room another purpose, 2. Clear room of items to Emmaus, 3. Play musical chairs (relocate useful objects to another room), 4. bring in yet another wardrobe from Narnia. Looking forward to what relocates to the shop (and how many of those objects are imprinted with woodland creatures).

On hot summer days under the pergola maybe you could get two large commercial standing fans ( not sure if you have electric in this area) we have done this for party’s and the breeze they create is very helpful . Just start off with the lowest setting as they can be quite powerful. Distance from the sitting area is key as well. In addition they help in the evening with bugs. Keeps them away. I love the château. It’s such a happy place.

Can tower window air conditioners be installed in some rooms or offer some relief? I love your pet peacocks 🦚, so cute. I remember when I lived in an apartment in New York City, all I had to do was food shop and laundry. The rest of the time I spend at work or at leisure doing whatever I wanted. Since I have owned property and a home, my daily task list has increased 1000 fold. I can only imagine the daily chores that Stephanie has on her checklist. That’s a huge property and ancient building to maintain, but she handles everything so beautifully and is very gifted for this very adventure. I’m so happy she shares it with us. God bless her.

Did you know? You can peel very ripe bananas, push a pop stick firmly through, wrap in cling wrap and freeze. They make great banana treats on hot days and are healthy frozen bites especially for children. Not for those with sensitive teeth however. ❤️ from Australia 🇦🇺.

Hey Stephanie and The La Landers!💖 I'm back after visiting family in Perth after 2 and a half years of border closures! Looking forward to when Isabelle and Percy are back, I can imagine how you must miss them.😢 Fantastic episode, as always, great fun. Thank you! Love from Oz, 🥳🥰🐝🐝🌻🌼

My 1st live! Yay! Stephanie I love your life, your enthusiasm and pure joy for living. Most of all I love that you are selflessly sharing it all with us and those lucky enough to be there at LaLande with you.
