Dear Pattu Sir. Another gem of a plan explained so beautifully and no nonsense approach. I am bit confused after watching your earlier video where you mentioned to have 7 Crores corpus at the start of the retirement year. In this video even with the regular income plan, it comes only to 1.68 crores. 7 Crs was bit of dampner and I agree most guys would have felt same way, but this new figure seems realistic and achievable if one puts in discipline and hard work. Am i missing something here? Thanks Gopal K

I have same question sir! it would be good to compare 3 approaches in new video and explain differences between them. I also recollect you had video for "real" return , meaning Equity will always have zig-zag pattern and not 8% every year, so how does that impact here? Shouldn't we keep 3rd bucket "untouched equity" for 10-15yrs ??

This video is for a person who is 55 and starting retirement. Now what about that 7 Crore video?

Just imagine you are retiring today and your monthly expenses are 50K, then the nos. mentioned by Pattu will make sense... If your retirement is 20 yrs. away, inflate the nos. accordingly.. Pattu mentioned the same in the beginning of the video!!

What is the end value of corpus if we make the 1st method's starting corpous amount to 1.68cr? Let's compare both the methods with the same starting corpus amount?

Awesome video sir. I really liked it. One quick question. In the second plan u put together, the 1cr in post office fd will still be there after the person in example dies as 6L is just the interest amount and the principle would be intact which if true, may be left for our children to perform last rights. 🙂 Please let me know if i am correct.

Longevity risk is the single biggest risk to retirement planning! Corpus needs to last till the age of 95 yrs. Or else one will be wanting in the most vulnerable times of life. Better to be safe than sorry.
@l33gsbf5 жыл бұрын
This should be taken on a case to case basis, primarily based on family history. Why stop at 95? Why not 105?!

I don’t know how much my dad has saved. He will be retiring in 2months. He has approx 50k monthly expense. Going by your video if he has 1.68cr on the day of retirement he can live until 85 at current monthly expenses of 50k. Did I understand it right ?

This what 4% rule says. 25 times of annual expenses required to retire and withdrawal rate is 4% from corpus.
@pattufreefincal5 жыл бұрын
The 4% is the 1st year's withdrawal rate only and is not of intuitive use
@TheKalia35 жыл бұрын
Realistic plan...what's missing is what happens in contingent situations like medical emergency...
@parthshah4082 Жыл бұрын
4% withdrawal rate is not relevant in current times and specially in developing economy.
