I love how Sunshine is actually a badass. After he takes out the defender, he pushes back hard on at least 2 opposing players, as they come to check on their teammate. Not to be outdone, he delivers 2 devastating blocks, in the State Championship, to clear a path for Rev. A serious baller.

I love how inclusive and diverse this movie was and still managed to flesh out it's characters while telling a great story. A lot of times in modern movies, you get shallow, token characters just for the sake of diversity. It feels forced and fake, where as this movie doesn't do that

@@dirtydan2695 actually its very loosely based off a true story. Yes, the Titans were a racially integrated team, that went undefeated and some of the names are the same. But alot of it is movie magic made up. But I'm not trying to away the message of the movie, and lessons, because true or not they are very important. However, they Titans wasn't the only school that was racially integrated, other schools were too, and before they even were. Also, this final game wasn't even close, Titan demolished this team.

A brilliant set up -- early on the film shows weird Californian, Ronnie "Sunshine" Bass, practicing Qi gong while girls ogle him-- this sets up the pivotal later scene when he basically practices a version of Bruce Lee's technique-- "fighting without fighting", using the tacklers own force against him. It's the best part of the movie.

That was a brilliant play making the other team think they were going to do a deep pass but instead the reversed the field on a run. This is an excellent movie especially with what is going on right now an the important lessons that are taught of respecting your neighbor as a fundamental teaching that all humanity should put into practice to lover your neighbor as yourself.

matthew pangelinan I wish I knew what all that meant. I love this movie, not cause it's a football movie, but because it's a true story & the time & setting. The things they were up against cause of the difference in their skin color, but they defeated it.

There are so many things wrong with this movie in so many ways, The ONLY true part is the Titans went undefeated, However. All the teams were integrated by then. The star player was injured in a car crash after the end of the season. He played in the championship game. That Gettysburg scene is pure hokum. The "racist" player who got tossed off the team is fiction. He didn't exist. I could go on and on.

I love how their term of endearment for Ronnie Bass was used by the coaches as well. I like how Coach called him Sunshine.
