I'm from the UK, I took my car for a MOT and it failed because 1 light was not clear to the age and general sun exposure, I used toothpaste and a light scotch pad to de-mist the light. I took the car back and he said did I buy a second hand light? I explained what I did and he was quite surprised. Then he passed my car. The next sunny day I cleaned it then sprayed clear lacquer, I also did the other side. This lasted for a year or so until I sold it.

@CleverTips20 I work as a silkscreen printer, we came many issues during a job, the worst thing with printing is a damaged print bed, even small scratches on a bed could cause serious defects in the print so we came up with many tips for buffing the screen bed and toothpaste was one of them, we often used many everyday things to help with problems and many had absolutely nothing to do with machine work but we had to improvise.
