Creative Grids 3.5" x 6.5" Ruler | a Shabby Fabrics Notion Video

This 3½" x 6½" ruler from Creative Grids is a wonderful tool for fussy cutting, cutting half-square triangles, as well as squaring up flying geese units! This ruler also features the Turn-A-Round feature - designated by the easy to read numbers, and the 1/2 inch grip sides. This ruler has gripper dots and gripper edges to help hold the ruler in place while cutting.

I love the little rulers! I hadn't looked at this one, and it's great to get all the features too, thank you. I'm not quite sure yet how you measure for bigger blocks to trim down but I will get there! I am 4 years patchwork/quilting but never done a big quilt nor all the blocks, I have practised practised by making hundreds of small gift projects, kits and learning the techniques and maths of cutting! I am now ready to progress more! I'm teaching my granddaughter's at the same time so I learn ahead of them, so much fun. ❤️

I wish Creative Grids would let us trade in some of the older Creative Grid rulers I got that don't have some of the features they have on their latest models. Creative Grid rulers are some of the best out there. I like how you show the features and how to use them.

Tammy, do you still use the folded corner clipper then? I get confused about which is best for what project🙈. I keep the small rulers in my mat pocket for easy measuring on little things, and love the FCC for binding. I have a 2 1/2 x 12 1/2, use that lots for totes and small things. Now you tempt with this one -but I don't see it on the UK website yet. 3 1/2 x 12 1/2 but no cute ones yet!! 😢

I use the FCC for sew & flip, binding, and half square triangles. I use the 3-1/2" x 6-1/2" primarily for sub-cutting strips, and squaring up blocks to 3-1/2". It's a handy ruler, and I find myself reaching for it more and more :slightly_smiling_face: Happy Quilting! ~ Tammy

@@ShabbyFabrics So how about the flying geese? I have not made flying geese yet. Do you use the FCC or this one? And how much bigger do you make the flying geese if you are trimming down. The FCC would not require trimming down so you wouldn't make bigger, correct??
