OMG, have been watching, but don't think I've commented before. You are a wealth of information! I had to stop the vid several times to get notes written down! I love everything about this type of journaling.....am new to it. Love paper crafting in general, but this is so exciting. Ill be looking at magazines with a new eye. I just love your perspective and style. So fun! Thank you!

You do have a gift - great layouts. I also take things from the Somerset magazines and others. I keep a few folders with things I have taken out and yes for sure one you have taken out what you want - go back later and check again. Thank you for the video's and your very pleasant voice. I was in a bit of "no ideas" for journaling and you have given me some good ideas to get me going once again. Thanks and keep up the wonderful work and videos

Hi Marcella - thanks for the wonderful comments! I love my Somerset magazines. About a year ago, I took 3 bags full to the library giveaway area and they were gone in less than 30 minutes! It seems lots of people like Somerset! TFW. Joanne

I love this soooooooooooooo much. When you flip the pages, just to see all the random pictures, the doodles and especially all that color, i go nuts,lol (in a good way) My friend started one of these for both of us. I'm still in the mag cutting stage but will catch up. TFS and can't wait to see what's next! Thanks again for all of your inspiration too! ~ L

Hi Beth.....I hope you give this is a try - it really is simple. I don't really consider this an art journal - i do keep a separate one of those too. I just came across your video :) thank you for sharing ! I started journaling in December and I did not want to focus on a planner bullet journal type. It’s really more like a scrapbook and I think yours is beautiful!!! THANKS FOR SHARING !!
@craftyhodges6 жыл бұрын
Hi Diana! Welcome to my channel! So happy you found me. I started creative journaling almost 3 years ago, working in a magazine and creating a magazine journal. I don't really have a need for a planner, but I did want to keep track of events that happened throughout the week, without the need for daily journaling. As you can see, my spreads incorporate a week at a time and so far it's worked quite well for me. You're right, a lot like scrapbooking without the formal layouts. I'm getting ready to post the December flip, so I hope you'll be back to watch! TFW and taking the time to comment. Joanne

craftyhodges i agree, I came to find out formal planners are not for me although I think the bullet journals I have seen are so nicely done I cannot keep up so I have been moreso scrapbooking my days which has been so much fun! @craftyhodges8 жыл бұрын
Hi Chela! Thanks for the sweet comment - you've do have a lot of journals going!! Awesome. My journal really contains my daily life - which is rather quiet and boring. I document books I'm reading, current events, anniversaries, birthdays, special happenings in our lives (like getting new carpet), phone calls with friends, the day to day ordinary stuff. It's things that are important to me and what I want to remember. My suggestion would be to make your journal your way and document the things that are important to you and you want to remember. Maybe you're already doing that in your 3 journals? I'm super happy you stopped by - have you checked out the September flip yet? If you get a chance to watch, please do so, you'll see how big and chunky my journal has gotten!!! TFW. Joanne

Did u paint the pages? Cover them with paper? I want to do a mag but the pages warp so easily.
@craftyhodges6 жыл бұрын
Aunty Ro Knows No, I don’t paint the pages, but I do cover them with plain copy paper. I use a glue stick, apply on both the paper and the magazine page and burnish well. The washi tape on the edges ensure the paper stays stuck to the magazine. Hope that helps. If you haven’t had a chance to watch my Reboot video, it might help you walk thru the construction. Joanne
@purpl3lina8 жыл бұрын
you glue the white paper right? or do you just tape it in?
@craftyhodges8 жыл бұрын
Hi Galina, yes, I just use a glue stick (be sure to use a generous amount on the corners especially) and glue the copy paper right down to the magazine page. When I add washi tape at the edges and down the center of the magazine, that just reinforces it the page. I used to use double sided tape on the corners, but I found that was not necessary. I also found a glue stick vs. white (liquid) glue works best. Hope that helps - if you have more questions, please just ask. Joanne
