Albert what I love about your videos is they are mainly intended (as you mention in the intro) to look at art and the world around you differently. You are truly the mindful art guru! Thank you!

Oh my gosh Albert! I know this one was posted a while ago, but when I watched it this morning I was truly inspired - especially as you played with the frame within frame portion by cutting out the square from the two pieces and interchanging them. As always, thank you for posting!

Thanks, m S. I like to show how artists work, but how it can trigger your creativity as well. And to show that you can use their artwork as a starting point to go wherever. The focus is on the viewer, how to help them. To help you. Enjoy, Albert

Albert, you are a creative, motivating, inspiring and tender instructor. Thank you for the time and effort you spend in relaying your ideas to us. On the subject of frames, I myself started doing abstract by leveraging regular geometric shapes: overlapping them in multitude of ways and try to paint and shading them according to topological rules that I set myself to abide by. This lead me to discover Malevitch, El Lissitzky amongst others. You “Paint like Jasper Jones” episode inspired me to introduce non-regular shapes (organic, human body parts and figures to the geometric mix. This breathed new life to my style and for that I am forever grateful. Thank you again.

Hi Salim, thanks for sharing all this. Interesting to hear what you paint and how you came to change it. I love to be a part in that. But keep in mind you saw something and you decided to make a change or evolve. Processes are so interesting. That's why I started to share mine on KZbin. I need this challenge of a video a week to keep painting. My best choice on a creative viewpoint. As a bonus I get to know you and all the other lovely painters, sharing their stories. Have a wonderful day, Albert

I just saw community guidelines. How could any human being be disrespectful to a person such as this? A truly talented soul willing to share with the world. I have a love/hate relationship with the internet to put it mildly. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Thank you for taking the time to create your videos for us. They are really great. i think frames do lots of things that help the viewerget more out of the art itself. It enhances and gives new perspective.

Thanks Suzanne, nice to hear your ideas about frames. Frames can guide or focus or perhaps even distract to let you focus in a different way. Or 20 different reasons. I love them for it. Albert

Hi Chano, thanks. I see what you mean, I agree. And sometimes I get bored with all the squares but likely we also have circles and ovals in the geometry department. Have a wonderful day, all

Frames catch our attention, what to do with this attention is the artist's issue. I like very much your random lines result, it has also a Christmas vibe (red $ green), a special decoration for these days!😁
@ImperfectPaintings5 жыл бұрын
Hi Con Civ, thanks 'attention' good choice. And what to do with it, you can have fun with it or ignore it. Yes red and green (nice thinking, you see everything, haha), just love this season with all the shiny Christmas trees. Happy painting, Albert

Hart bedankt Albert.....ik denk dat ik 3 kleine abstracte dingen maak, en dan het middelste eruit snij, en verwisselen, zoals je voordeed, naast elkaar ophangen.....Wat een origineel idee! (van jou)

It was so interresting to hear your comments about frames within frames. My son is an abstract painter and while in art school had an exhibit entitled "It's Hip to be Square" - many takes on frames within frames! Sorry I cannot post an example or two as there is no way to add a file.

Thanks, Dakotasus, for sharing your lovely story. When you start to play with concepts like this, there are almost no boundaries. It's like you can create a new world with its own set of rules. Freedom in art. I love it. Albert

New Subscriber. I found you when I was researching Cy Twombly. I watched your collection where you paint like famous painters- Twombly being my favorite, but I also love Jawlensky's abstract faces and that got me hooked. I LOVE how you demonstrate and explain! I tend to lean towards flowers, trees and landscapes in general, but now thanks to you, I tried a few other inspirations and have really enjoyed it. I "frame" almost all my images in one way or another- drawing black or white lines to pull an image "forward".

I think frames are not always where the eye goes. They can be under appreciated. The artist may be saying that the frame is important along with the art so it says Notice My Beauty also when frames are in a frame. Just my take on it

You're Connie, different types of frames have different effects. Always fun to look at them in different ways. Albert
