Willow looks to be in fine fettle. A couple of belters 'from nothing'. I did the stop and think thing a couple of weeks back when I was totally overwhelmed by a new (to me) woodland. After a wee while, I had four images without moving more than a few feet, a couple of wider views, and a couple of floor shots with the macro lens. Very productive day in an amazing location; Thorncombe Woods near Dorchester. As always, thanks for sharing Simon.

Glad somebody else has a mad dog, I think you coped very well with all the distractions caused by Willow. The river shot is stunning love the beautiful colour tones. I imagine Willow fell fast asleep when you returned home lovely to see her enjoying the countryside. Two stunning shots as always, what would have done without Willow's lead!!!

Two absolutely fascinating images. 😮 … Finding an image where the little river is incorporated, I would certainly have done as well. 😊 but it would have never occurred to me that a leaf on leaf could create such a striking photograph. 😮 … well done, sir. 😊

Poor Willow! She really tried to draw your attention to the best bits, but you just wouldn't be told... I liked the leaves. I'm generally reluctant to depart from my customary 3x2 or 1x1, but this crop, following the general line of the beech rib, worked very well indeed.

I was quite impressed by the river shot as I wasn't certain what you were going for until you showed it! The image of the leaf was another educational moment for me. LOL....loved to see Willow in your video, I know they can sometimes be a nuisance but she certainly made me laugh as she covered your camera bag with fallen leaves!! Hope to see more of her in the future. Thanks Simon for today's fun!

Morning Simon. Man, that is one manic dog. Enjoy this, yet another video from you out doing for it as you do best. Interesting set of photographs today, with my favourite being the panorama of the abstract leaf shot from below. That's quite lovely. Get it printed. Get it for sale. You have so many of these gems now Simon, it's about time that you did an exhibition properly. Hope you're well mate. Off to Texas next week I will try and catch you when I get back

Hi Simon, two beautiful images inspiringly created. I kept looking at the beech/roan leaf and I found myself wanting to flip it round - I think it's because the stem of the beech leads in from the right, to the left. As we read from left to right, I wonder if leading from left to right might feel more 'natural'/comfortable. Of course, framing it as you have done has certainly caught my attention and earned my engagement. Thank you.
@SimonBoothPhotographyАй бұрын
@@heathermtaylor7683 I hear you Heather but I tend to leave things as I find them most of the time unless there’s an opportunity to create a more compelling image. By that, I mean so it changes the image completely and fools the views by doing so. Not so much with a straight shot like this.
@heathermtaylor7683Ай бұрын
@SimonBoothPhotography - You are the artist here, Simon - the inspirational creative. I love what you do and how you see things. To be honest, I tend to keep my images as they have been framed and shot. There's an integrity to what you are creating and that resonates with me.

Hi Simon, just a quick question, with the overhead leaf shot, could you not have hand held the camera, and increased the iso to give you sufficient shutter speed to avoid shake? Given that you're shooting medium format, would a higher iso matter?
@SimonBoothPhotography2 ай бұрын
With all the dog goings on, I forgot to add the settings detail. I was already at 800iso. My camera tends to degrade the image higher than that. Plus, getting the sensor plane parallel to the subject was critical to get sharpness across the entire frame. It’s much more hit and miss hand held.
