Hi, great video! One question, what is the cut setting when cutting the reverse side of the vinyl to only cut through the paper backing to reveal the adhesive vinyl? Thank you, Ziggy

Are these new 4's beefier to allow etching metal without voiding the warranty? I'm coming in from a full-sized 42" non-Silhouette machine to a Cameo 4 (as the Curio - which was designed to etch metal with it's beefier interior parts - was discontinued).. Have you seen any Cameo 4 failures due to etching? Are parts replaceable for the end-user? Or do you try to always stick with softer metal? Thanks!

To avoid voiding your warranty you will want to ensure you are using Silhouette brand products in your machine.

FYI not all hand stamp blanks are soft metals, I did it for many years. Most handstamp tools are made of a very hard metal and are rated for stainless steel. That means that some people actually handstamp on stainless and their tools will not be ruined from it. So handstampers use stainless, Aluminum, copper, brass, gold and silver. Please be aware.

Have you ran into the problem where all the settings and designs are the same but one side etches how I want it and the other side etches really light. I’m etching aluminum dog tags. It’s really irritating. Do you know if lighting will dictate its etching?

Hey Matt! I don't think this would be due to the lighting, although I haven't personally experienced what you are describing. I would start by checking the cutting mat you are using, if it's wobbly like a standard Silhouette mat, you can try something sturdier like a Cricut cutting mat. I would also check that your etching tool is secure, and that it isn't slowly sliding up in the holder during etching. Hope this helps! ---Becky
