Once ran into him in Rock Creek with my toddler daughter. I said hey and told her That's Ian MacKaye, a guy daddy is a big fan of, and she said Hi, and he said Hi back and we walked our separate ways and it was just all so nice.

Because they're real, try to keep a clear view, have strong convictions and have plenty to share and teach... it's no coincidence or formula. It's their drive and almost obligation to who they are and what they value. They don't whine about the problems, they act on solutions and share the growth with anyone who's interested in being a better human.

I wrote a letter to Ian when I was 13. I dunno what I said I think I mostly gushed about Minor Threat (hadn’t yet understood Fugazi) and he wrote me back within a week (I live in Maryland), typed with a typewriter, on the back of a Polaroid of Fugazi playing one of their last shows. Ian MacKaye rules, so earnest and endearing

His ego is all that you should believe in IN his mind. If you don't believe in him then you are not a person worth being alive. I used to like Ian but the more I see/hear, I realize that he wants you to live the way he does... yet the man has Milllions.
@ericchagasdeoliveira41773 жыл бұрын
That is absolutely not the message he passes forward, the way he lives is definitely healthy and good for anyone's body and mind so of course he tries to emanate that knowledge to people, but he actually does it in a very welcoming way. I'll never be straight edge for example simply because i don't want to, but i won't lie that it's a much healthier and better way to live. I assume either you don't talk to a lot of people or is lucky enough to never have had contact with someone who tries to propagate an ideology agressively
