Nina’s life was a tragedy from start to finish. Her end was a true gut punch when you realize she’s the only true innocent in the series. The entire season people were theorizing why Nina was imprisoned, what incredible power she had hidden and what terrible crime she might have committed. But the twist was there wasn’t a twist. Nina had never done anything wrong. She never hurt anyone, even as self defense or revenge. Rather than be near those that hurt her she simply tried to be alone. She couldn’t have killed the princess in the end because it wasn’t in her to hurt anyone, unlike the princess. She never stood a chance. Only two people ever cared about her, her father that was murdered in front of her and the Bride that called her the biggest freak of them all and sent her to her death. Nina deserved a softer, kinder world.

Each episode of this series was exceptional, consistently delivering compelling and emotionally resonant narratives. The episode featuring the weasel was particularly noteworthy. The finale, however, was profoundly impactful, unexpectedly tragic in its depiction of Nina's fate and its use of flashbacks. The revelation of the princess's true monstrous nature was masterfully executed. I am enthusiastic about this direction for the overarching D.C.U. theme, recognizing the importance of balancing family-friendly content with more mature offerings. This approach demonstrates significant potential for cohesive storytelling and strong character development. Episode six was a personal favorite, showcasing Gotham City in intense flashbacks that highlighted its ruthlessness. This significantly increased my anticipation for the new D.C.U. Batman. The intensity of that flashback was remarkable.

I’m really hoping that Marvel can take notes from the DCU and James Gunn what I mean by that said, I think they should focus more on storytelling and having eats project with its own thing rather than an interconnected franchise cause I feel like Marvel has been on a downhill spiral because Disney’s former manager wanted to make a whole franchise that spend a wider audience while DC while doing the same thing is actually making shows like creature commandos and peacemaker more adult oriented, but that making family friendly franchisees like Superman the difference being they’re only making stuff like this because the script is ready and her focusing more on stories rather than making a franchise. I think that was the entire point of her character. In each episode, a character gets to shine in one way or another. But for Nina, her theme is "Almost but not quite". Not everyone gets a Hero Moment. Hers was a Shaggy Dog story. She's full of untapped potential, and that's her story's theme. And that's the tragedy.

@christianyaerger1751 I mean in Ep 1 when Amanda introduced the team members to Rick and Rick asked "What use is she [Nina] walking around in a fishbowl", and Amanda replied "Get her in water it's a different story". Honestly there is so much that felt off with the way that this was wrapped up, not really sure how to feel about it. The resolution of the prophecy felt way too vague and almost like there's still uncertainty regarding the veracity of the prophecy, and the connections to clayface and gorilla grodd seem unexplained. Illana also did not take any responsibility in choosing Nina to go do the deed, and in fact there is absolutely no reflection on her leadership as she just happily gets a new team at the end. Brides explanation of The Princess's intentions was taken at face value but it seemed so speculative. And also it seemed as though they were setting up Weasel to be poor at communicating but still highly intuitive and that his affinity for the princess was based on her being truly good, but nope I guess he was just being a dumb idiot and foiled the plan and got Nina killed... I'm pretty disappointed actually, not because I thought the finale was bad but because I just did not find myself thinking that it was very good. Despite setting up strong mysteries, it did not seem to pay off very well at all.

The real professor said the vision is true. Clayface was hired to kill her and make it seem like the professor was lying which convinced rick flagg and waller. The plan worked but the bride killed the princess anyway to avenge nina not caring about the world domination.

14:28 Wait if Wonder Woman hasn't revealed herself to the world then why did she appear in Circe and Waller's vision??

Have to say, don't like how they handled Ilana's death. Even if she was evil, which is still a little vague. Her death was way to sudden. There were still things that needed answering. Now it just feels hollow. Not to mention it was the Bride who sent Nina to kill her. Ilana (who might be evil) responded in self defense. The Bride doesn't take any responsibility for getting Nina killed.

Well said there is so much that felt off with the way that this was wrapped up, not really sure how to feel about it. It felt way too vague and almost like there's still uncertainty regarding the veracity of this prophecy and connections to clayface and gorilla grodd. Illana did not take any responsibility in choosing Nina to go do the deed, and in fact there is absolutely no reflection on her leadership as she just happily gets a new team at the end. Brides explanation of The Princess's interiors was taken at face value but it seemed so speculative.

So if im following correctly. The princess had clayface impersonate the professor AFTER the professor said "trust circe visions" to discredit her. Even if she slept with flag. Theres no guarantee he wouldve tracked down the professor later to see if shes legit. 😊

All I could think about when the Princess killed Nina was fish tacos. Ribbit.

Best superhero project since Doom Patrol. DC can hit Marvel’s heights but needs to do it regularly.

It took me till the last episode to I really get into the show, by the end I actually cared about the characters. Better late than never. Im still a little unsure if Gun's edgey style will work for the entire DCU but Im definitely here for it.

It was a fantastic season and the ending was amazing. For Gunn to be able to pack so much storytelling in so little time is very impressive. It was also entertaining heartfelt and hilarious at the same time. I wish that they did something low budget like completed the final few scenes of this last episode in live action so we could have felt a little bit more tied in. But that's just wishful thinking The actual way the bride saved the universe is exactly the understated dark tones that I hope stays in this universe as opposed to the big CGI fights like secret wars had to push in. I dare say secret wars could have learned a whole lot from the execution of this animated show

Nina’s death was pretty surprising but I loved the series! I feel like all the episodes could’ve been 10 minutes longer, especially the Finale it felt rushed. Did like the reveal of the new team with Mummy and Man Bat Lady tho, glad Dr. Phosphorus survived the season as well! All the characters and settings were perfect, feel bad for Nina still but they had to make room for King Shark I suppose. Can’t wait to see what Gunn has in store for the rest of the characters and story moving forward, wonder if Flag will be back to lead the team. So glad DC is coming back with bangers!

Bro that episode was the longest out of the entire season😅

@ by like 2 minutes?! C’mon man, you can’t deny the episode felt rushed. Each episode should be at least 10 minutes longer considering how many episodes we get.

Love this show but I’m left with a few questions: Why would the Princess want the Waller to believe she needed to be killed? Wouldn’t it have made more sense for Clayface to deny Circe’s future sight?

I like CC, because it looks hand drawn, not the recent cel shaded CG that they’ve been toying with. Bring back that Bruce Timm, or even the Red Hood style of animation. Yes, it’s more expensive- but, it makes a huge difference.
