Bruh SS literally killed it on HBO Max, just like other huge digital releases, of course less people went to the theaters during COVID when they can watch from home. Unlike Marvel which even during peak COVID were trying to fill theaters. SS and Peacemaker did so well they literally made him CEO

I'm still optimistic with James Gunn DCU but since he is the only director I know of who understands comic book characters, he could bring something into the light for DC which is definitely what they need and lacked a lot of and with the MCU still collapsing now is Warner Bros chance, don't f*** it up🙏

@Bluecreed01 Gunn could use on his team the writers of Superman & Lois and the fight choreography teams from Arrow and Stargirl. And he should not race swap or gender swap any characters from the comics on the main timeline or from any of the comic book storylines that have proven to be greatly received. Of course, he's already race swapped Perry White. And, just for the record I'm a black man.

The reason why The Suicide Squad flopped at the box office, as you said yourself, was because of the pandemic and the fact it was also released on Max the same time. It’s a bit unfair to weigh that against James Gunn when Guardians 3 was the only superhero movie that performed well at the box office last year
@YG-hw4rfАй бұрын
Well yes and no, black widow came out a month before James gunns tss during the lockdowns , and made more than double, and like tss it had the streaming and theatre same day release. And then a month later shangi chi came out and made 450m. So it flopped, but even under normal conditions I'm not sure it was gonna hit the financial levels of the David ayer version

@@YG-hw4rf To be fair, Black Widow had the good will of the MCU and being a long awaited solo movie for a long running character going for it, and wasn't a sequel to a movie that made money at the box office off hype alone and left the audience massively disappointed. Nor was it rated R, which is sometimes a selling point but often just means smaller audience because parents are less likely to take their kids to it (and therefore less likely to have a night out at all). There were a number of things going against it, aside from the dual release (and some theaters still being closed), but that was definitely a major contributing factor in combination with everything else. Black Widow was somewhat able to overcome that factor thanks to other factors.

Actor play Dr Phosphorus play in Superman Reboot Seem Characters Because it's Connected
@Swenglish27 күн бұрын
James Gunn said at NYCC that Alan Tudyk is playing another, secret character. Not just Dr. Phosphorous. He can do that because Dr. Phosphorous doesn't involve showing his face. The same goes for Sean Gunn playing three characters (G.I. Robot, The Weasel and Maxwell Lord), only one of which has a human face. It's connected, but actors can play multiple roles as long as they look (and, presumably, sound) different enough.

Stop talking about TSS flopped when you have more than valid reasons as to why… his future success at DC is irrelevant when it comes to TSS..that film had the shitty reputation of the DCEU already too
@reynaldolorenzo8409Ай бұрын
The only reason his Suicide Squad film flopped is because it was during the pandemic and was released on Max the same day, taking away from the box office. I myself watched it on Max as the theaters in Puerto Rico were closed. Everyone should know that's why the film failed at the box office. The film has great reviews by both critics and audience, all five comicbook content he has done has been a success in ratings for both critics and audience, and box office with the exception of TSS because of what I said. It's not going to fail, lol. James Gunn is a great director and writer, and more importantly, he knows the character and respects it, as we have seen with the leaks of pictures on sets, his posts, and everything he has says in interviews and replied to fans in social media every day. Superman is part of the big three best superheroes of all time with Batman and Spider-Man, he is the image of a superhero. It will be competing against the Fantastic Four and the MCU, which is more famous than DC in films, but still, he hasn't failed before, he won't fail with one of the greatest superheroes.
