I actually do appreciate the people who directed this movie in expanding David's role in the franchise. I thought it was very good for him despite the movie not being good as the previous in my opinion.

God Charles Dance was Perfectly Casted to Play a Vampire. Even Though Thomas was introduced in Underworld Awakening as a Viktor Copycat but Charles Dance was fun to watch. I Absolutely Love his Character in Underworld Blood Wars and seeing Charles Dance in a Sword Fight was so entertaining to watch. I hate that Thomas was killed off but I loved he died fighting to protect his Son and Seline and Showed that Thomas even though Thomas was introduced as a New Viktor Type Character but in the end he became a better man Than Viktor was.

But in it is in accordance with fairly often used vampire lore (not Dracula, as he is like last of his kind) that elder vampires posses powers league(s) above their generation(s) younger siblings. And Underworld follows this as well. Do not forget how Marcus - barely woken from hibernation and de-facto crippled by its effects - effortlessly massacred bunch of other vampires that came to kill him, were probably skilled warriors and were ready to fight - and continued to exterminate whole coven.
