Why is it a Duck that creates the world and sky, that spins like a spiral into night and day, Zeus knew why, he choose the Swan, because of it's magic wand, Long Long is it's Ding-Dong, that curls into a spiral. Male muscovy ducks, for example, have corkscrew-shaped penises that spring out from their body in less than half a second and are 20cm long when erect. Other species' length varies from 1.5 to 40cm., a world record, compared to body size, even bigger then the Sperm Whale. Some ducks also have barbs on their penises to scrub away competing sperm. Female ducks have corkscrew vaginas, they twist in the opposite direction to the male duck's penis. But, crucially, they have dead ends they can try to send the males down if they don't want to have their ducklings. Male ducks are notorious for attempting "forced copulation" with females. Like Zeus shapeshifting into a swan to do his "forced copulation" with Leda, Queen of Sparta.

@9:00 The Dualistic Creation of the World, seems like the Dualistic Cross, Gemini, Sagittarius, Virgo and Pisces, the two fish, the Twins, the half man half beast, and Virgo, the mother who is also a Virgin too, and Dualistic it is. I just left a comment about it at "Anu the OLDEST Father God" video from Gnostic Informant TV, to save time, I'll just copy it over here. Passages in the Pyramid Texts connect Isis closely with Sopdet, the goddess representing the star Sirius, whose relationship with her husband Sah-the constellation Orion-and their son Sopdu parallels Isis's relations with Osiris and Horus, their son Sopdu, sometimes called Septu is Venus. When you see a Goddess with her Lion, it could be Virgo and Leo, Venus being Male and Female in mythology, and the words "Boy-Girl" played in reverse will echo "Virgo", Latin for Virgin, where 'vir' means Man in Latin, 'gyne' is Woman in Greek, Virgin a Man-Woman, a Virgo is born is September, a connection to Venus ancient name Septu, whose wife was Chensit (Khensit), the daughter of Ra, her name means Placenta, whereas in Astrology, Virgo is the Belly Button, your first scare, cut from the Placenta. Hiding in the center of 7 is Eve, between the S'N, play "Sin Eve" in reverse to hear it echo Venus In the heavens we see Orion battling the Bull Taurus, play "Her Mithras" in reverse, it echoes "September", play "They All Rule" in reverse, you hear it echo "Orion", Sah or Sahu was known as The Hidden One. September, the Seventh Member, 1+6=7, place the Sun at the tip of Orion's Club, that will be on the day of the Summer Solstice, now go backwards in reverse, 16 days, now you have the Sun sitting on the Forehead of the Sun, the symbol of the Apis Bull. Doing this with the Winter Solstice, starting from the little blood red macula, we call Spiculum, meaning Spear, or is Speculum, a tool used by doctors, inserted into the woman, to look where babies come from, going back 16 days, places the Sun in Ophiuchus, the Left leg of Ophiuchus, seen as the War God Zababa, the husband of Goddess Baba, the Dog Headed Goddess Bau, the First Doctor, mother of "The Child" Damu, the Dying & Rising god of Healing. Ophiuchus is the 13th, a number associated with Hidden, like in the Belly of the Goddess, her womb, Scorpio, the 11th, is the Sexual Organ, Sagittarius the 12th, is the Hips & Thighs, and this being the center of our galaxy, where stars are born, who they called Gods, calling it The Golden Gate of the Gods, whereas Orion's Club marks The Silver Gate of Man, between Gemini & Taurus. Since the XIV Century, the two crossed keys have been the official insignia of the Holy See. The gold one, on the right, alludes to the power in the kingdom of the heavens, the silver one, on the left, indicates the spiritual authority of the papacy on earth. Play in reverse "Yam, Say Oath, Newest, Beyond The Mist, They All Role" they echo "Orion, Gemini, June, Taurus, May" The Silver Gate of Man Yam means Twin, from Yama, Yama (Sanskrit: यम), is the Hindu god of Death and Justice, and is responsible for the dispensation of law and punishment of sinners in his abode, Yama (Sanskrit: यम), also known as Kala, the Mahakala is Shiva, meaning Seven in Hebrew. Yama is the Twin of of Yami, the goddess of life, sometimes their roles are flipped. At the tip of Orion's Sword is Hatysa, the location where his Club(Penis) was cut from, the "Bright One of the sword" is the meaning, and the meaning to Sopdu's symbol of the Triangle, is "The Shape One" or "The Smart One", or the Tooth or Claw of the Lion. In Hebrew, haat means "to sin", yasa means "Savior", backwards "Savior of Sinners", Haya means Grain, and the name of a God, the Sword is not a sword, but a Waterfall of Orion's Blood, and the Star at the tip is his Seed. Play in reverse "Her Message, Say There Is A Guest, Her Bid One, Wise Quotes" they echo "Scorpio, November, Sagittarius, December" The Golden Gate of the Gods Now play "I Cupps, Scare Earth My Arm Of Nuit, Her Mithras, Boy-Girl" their echo "Virgo, September, Vindemiatrix, Spica" The hand stars of Virgo, the Gatekeeper. Now play in reverse "Way, I'll Open It, So They Go, See God" they echo "August, Regulus, Denebola, Leo" The tip of the lion's tail, and the heart. The Lioness uses her tail to communicate with the others during the hunt, and her young. Below is The Great One we call Aquarius, where we find the Mouth of the Southern Fish, the star Fomalhaut and Fomalhaut b, we call Dagon, known as the Fish headed god of Grain, associated with consuming the penis of Osiris/Orion, Dagon is where we get the word Dragon from, together they create the Eye of the Dragon. Now play in reverse these words "She Saw, Thou Am Wolf, Say You're Well Taught, You Will Be Fed" their echo "February, Aquarius, Fomalhaut, Pisces" All four creating a cross, in the center, spinning around the pole star is the Dragon Draco, and the Head of Draco was the Standing Wolf riding the Plough Handle, where you hang the Seed Cup, inside the cup is the Swine Star, known as Damu, Dumuzid and Tammuz. The Serpent hanging on the Cross, that Moses used to heal the Jews of all of their sins. The planets speak too, play these words in reverse, they echo the planets "Ra Stood-New Spin-Cinerary-New Dust-Her The Priest-Wife of Seth-Serum-Through-New Womb-Sin Eve-Here Ra Come, Make Luv" in reverse "Vulcan-Mercury-Venus-Moon-Earth-Mars-Asteroid Belt-Jupiter-Saturn-Uranus-Neptune-Pluto" Some folks think that there is a planet between Mercury and the Sun, they call it Volcan, who is associated with Hephaestus. Hephaestus once attempted to rape Athena, but she pushed him away, causing him to ejaculate on her thigh, lets just call it Sagittarius, the Hips & Thighs.

Finally someone gives some attention to the Myths of Eastern Europe.

Very good that he starts with the origin of these Eastern European myths, in New Zealand. That is a Waitaha creation story. It is uncorrupted because we pass the knowledge of specialist areas from grandmother's and grandfather's to selected grandchildren, in songs. If the child cannot repeat the song in exact perfect detail, then at the first mistake, everyone goes to bed, and the session of sharing learning is reconvened a few days later. It has been this way here for 500 thousand years.

@@alekseibuinyi Yes, it may well be older than the record we keep in here in Zealandia, or Alfheim if you prefer a more ancient term. There have been humans in this hemisphere with brains at least as large as today for at least 2 million years, and with the genes associated with language capability also. Perhaps before that they enjoyed inhabiting Asgard, Antarctica, The land of fire and ice, encircled by Jörmungandr, the southern ocean circumpolar current, now broken by the cosmic storms, with thunder and lightning and subglacial volcanism induced basal outburst floods, pushing left by coriolis as they head north. Yes Ragnorok comes, Again, as so many times before. Every 12900 years in the last million. We call it the time of Tumatauenga, when Mother Earth renews herself. We feel sadness for the denizens of the Frigid Hell of the Laurasian lands of the Underworld, as once again they insist that they are immortal gods, refuse to heed the signs, the storys carved in stone temples by our giants of Stone and of Ice, the Ruariki and KahuiTipua. I am Arawyn, and I remember many of these past cycles. Perhaps many souls will graduate from the Underworld and return here soon. Or perhaps we shall return to Elfa Centauri, from whence life on this Earth was seeded. 😉 🐶🐍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🐉

Due to turbulent clashes between Germanic and Slavic tribes, all concrete evidence of such mythology is currently completely lost, with some names and vague meaning behind them being somewhat reconstructed from Roman written re-tellings of what they understood. If we disregard them as biased and inaccurate, with no concrete physical evidence recorded, only way to somewhat extract myths would be cross-referencing adjacent folklore. In other words, there is a chance there won't ever be fully or even partially accurate deconstruction of pre-Christan mythology based around "Perun", "Svarog" or "Chernobog" in Slavic mythology There are counterparts of "Perun" deity in many other Indo-European cultures, namely Baltic and Norse, i recommend checking those out as they most certainly influenced each other.

Hey there! I loved to hear about Hungarian aspects, and thank you for making an effort with pronounciations! I've noticed this earlier, but can confirm, that your 'Szeged' was 95% correct. :) You might have known this but another branch of ugrics have not travelled through Persia and into Europe, and those are the Finns. They also have a bird figure in their creation myth, though I don't think it can be classified as an earth diver version and I'm sure the Finnish version has had quite a lot of Nordic influence through the millennia, as was the Hungarian affected by Christianity. An other thing that occurred to me: might is be a hint at animisic/shamanistic roots, that the "devil" always wants something to do and asks "whar?", "what?", "what?" and you can only be rid of it by giving it an impossible task? There are examples of this motif in Hungarian folklore, I would venture to guess the "devil" in this case is more in connection of a "spirit" that was useful for man at the time, but does not betray its nature, so after its usefulness has been fulfilled, it needs to be set loose again. Folktales in Hungarian use the word devil very loosely in this aspect, making it very obvious that there are many devils, there is no "THE" devil (if we mean a singular evil entity, the word Satan is used, but the word for devil (ördög) is much much older, older then our arrival in Europe. You might have known this but, I'm not sure English translations mention this or take it into consideration.). So a devil in this sense simply has its own nature. This way of looking at things to me hints at the animistic/shamanistic way of thinking hidden very deeply in this motif. But I'm just an enthusiast :) Anywho if you ever need anything translated from Hungarian, feel free to reach out! Honestly, it would be a pleasure to aid your research.

i also think that underlying there is a shamanistic way of thinking, before Christianity the lines between good and evil were not as hard and Vedci , Veduni or Knowers in English, use all sort of "malevolent" helpers to get something done. But in fact is that this kind of work can quickly get you tricked and can set you on downword spiral... Btw in Synthian art ( and we found it also in Hallsstat culture) there is a lot of water birds depictions , was wondering why and maybe is becouse of this story ?
@lukasbauer8783
@lukasbauer8783 5 ай бұрын
@@markmandy9954Medieval legends regularly portray catholic so called Saints using so called devils as their helpers and sometimes outright slaves. The story of St. Nicolas and Krampus is a remnant of something that was FAR more Common. So the devilish helpers were right at home right in the very heart of Christianity. The idea that pre- or non christians didn't properly divide good and evil seems a tad dubious and self congratulatory to me. Especially when we consider Things Like the biblical God bragging about being creator and master of hellish, grotesque monsters as His pets, regularly sending explicitely evil spirits and counting Satan as his courtier and intimus, making bets with him and later openly admitting to having done so for no real reason. And even though Christianity later tried rationalizing all those things away, the Devil Always very much a servant of God who couldn't do a single thing without explicitely being allowed every evil act. And even then his purpose is to scare and terrorize people to conveniently come crawling to God. It is Christianity that ascribes to God a very intimate and cozy relationship to Evil. So there is no reason to doubt that if evil spirits (that again, in the bible repeatedly are directly called evil spirits FROM God) in some way ensnare or trick people, they are doing it at their true Lord's order, who is as responsible as if he was doing the tricking himself.

Despite their conversion (much) later to Abrahamic religions, the Eastern European peoples show with these myths, which can also be found in folk legends in other Indo-European cultural areas, with the statement that God and the devil existed together from the beginning, and not the devil emerges from divine creation, its cultural dualistic origin in Manu and Yemo. The fact that many of those myths continued to exist as valid after the time of the Inquisition, the Reformation and the Thirty Years' War is also a sign that the previous strictly "Catholic Christian times" of the Middle Ages could only have been politically Christianized, but in the ordinary (enslaved) Population, the indo-european diversified predecessor religions and Semite-Indo-European mestize religions, still were dominant until well into the beginning of modernity, at least in the rural context (where, apart from the priest, no one could read, and often the priest could not really write), as a cultural consensus, and also religious Practice must have continued. Today we are only told the horror stories of the “Dark Ages” so that we are satisfied with the system we have today and thus act in accordance with the system. In fact, as technology advances, the possibility of perfecting bondage develops. Probably to a degree that largely compensates for the simultaneous cultural and social progress. Back to myths and religion: Even today we see exactly the same duality of Manu and Yemo, in all those spiritual models that understand the existence of a higher God as a basic prerequisite for creation, but within life on this created earth, prefer to worship a Demiurge because the God is aloof and unapproachable, but only the Demiurge is helpful to the created human, sometimes being the God the Creator, but sometimes explaining the creation as the Demiurge's work, with which the Demiurge tries to keep safe humanity from an injust god: Freemasons, Gnostics under the banner of any Abrahamic religion, Templars/Maltese/Jesuits (in top positions), Druid cultists, , false-understood Northern Pantheon followers, transhumanists (who believe in the dualism between Nature and Technology, as conceptually "Divine" and practically "Creative"), etc. And so the faith was ultimately able to develop from religion to political ideology via the absolutist claims of the monarchy, only develop where a demiurge, and not the god, is at the center of all worship. Because only the firm belief in a demiurge allows one to look for alternatives to the divine order. Which means that the institutionalized Abrahamic religions should actually follow a demiurge if we look at their social evolutions. And the oldest of the three (excluding subordinate sects and mixed religions), Judaism, not only names other gods of the neighboring peoples (such as Baál), but also names two different entities as divine leadership: Y'hwe and Yehovah. But then the following Christian and Muslim creeds largely merged with each other. And leave only the Satan/Devil (Sheitan) for those special situations where a lack of dual rivalry could override all remaining logic and thus make faith vulnerable. Extremely interesting is that myth, where Jesus is created, than baptised at 33 years of age, to overtake God's job. It actually could mean, that what we call "God" is a Demiurge, as he is replaceable. But that "Satan" (Arameic for Ba'al) is the true god... Have a great time @Crecganford and a happy weekend 👋

She eventually asked the otter do dice as deep as he could, now even tho it was completely black the other kept diving until he finally hit earth. He kept doing this until the could put to use to use what the others gave her. A moral pestle and corn,beans and squash seeds. Thats what we call the America's turtle island. That is how this land was made. I'm. Kt going to go into her mysterious pregnancy and all that. What I'm talking about operates the Bible by nearly 7000 years. Eventually the mole found the sun, but was so use to the dark he went blind but saved every species on earth.

I believe a rope in a rope of sand is used as an measuring unit. In South Slavic folklore it is kabal (cable) of water/sand as a measure of volume. Eastern Iranian speaking Scythians and then Sarmathians ruled both Eastern Europe and Siberia in the centuries preceeding Hunic move, followed by further Turkic waves - Oghuz, Pecheneg, Avar, Bulgar, Kuman, Khazar... each of them mixing and merging with Scythians who also played a role in ethnogenesis of Slavic/Hungarian/Romanian groups. Some scientists find the root of Bogomil dualisms in Scythian traditions. Hope this helps.

This was my question. Why the Devil/God concepts. It seems these came from Christianity. Pre-Christain would seem to embody the energy associated with a "devil" in an animal that exhibited such energy. As in NA indigenous legends where that chaotic, destructive energy is embodied in a trickster spirit (coyote). Or, perhaps the creation/destruction duality of hinduism.

Along with the loss of languages and biases from outside cultures, too many. It’s actually a reason why people who are reconstructionist neopagans have a hard time finding reliable lore if they aren’t worshiping the Kemetic, Hellenic or Roman pantheons. With those civilizations we have the names and domains of the deities worshiped but with pantheons outside those groupings people have to claw their way through biased/skewered writings.

@@mirandagoldstine8548 it is very sad, really. No wonder, over here, in NA, so many folks of European descent think that they are also of the first peoples here, trying to adopt customs & ways. There are diver myth creation stories here as well. No duality of spirit tho. Why these lands are called Turtle Island. The soil was brought up to rest on the back of a great turtle and grew there upon.

Thank you for this Jon, and for taking up the torch of oral tradition that in ages past was kept alight by our tribal shamans, a sacred fire that our clans gathered around in ceremony to remember our origins and ancestors and to protect us from the terrors of the dark beyond its warm glow. In the abandonment of those traditions in favor of the written word, and now in the post-industrial consumerist wasteland of TikTok mentality, we find ourselves in an Existentialist wilderness of concrete jungles with only the cold glow from our little black mirrors to comfort us, sorely lacking in reminders of our past and our true nature. Thank you for being an exception to the status quo. I recently found your work through your video about the ancient origins of the Pleiades story as part of some research I have begun in preparation for a creative writing project , the bare bones of which I "received" from a "spirit messenger" (from my own subconscious), a dragonfly, in the full light of a a clear blue sky last summer. Since that unusual occurence I have been looking for references in legends, myths, Jungian archetypes, religious and mystic traditions, urban legend, and any other potential connections with the dragonfly ; I found an obscure reference to a tale associated with my own Cherokee ancestry, of the Coyote and the Dragonfly and her connection with the Pleiades but have not as of yet found any full accounts of the story or validation of the connection with Cherokee culture. I did, however, find YOU and your research and several references in other Native American legends to the Pleiades; I also found "The Hidden Records 1: The Star Of The Gods" by Wayne Herschel and Birgitt Lederer, certainly not mainstream research but full of links to Catastrophism, anthropology, and ancient cultures all over the globe, and ample fodder for a hungry imagination. Those synchronicities and others have begun to put a bit of flesh on the bare skeleton of my narrative, have helped to better define the path and destination of my aspiring hero's journey, and have revealed additional parallel dimensions hidden within his world. Ronin has a sharp implement (his katana) to grind with a certain rising god, and while kneeling in prayer before a makeshift altar amid the ruins of a fallen cathedral in a level of the Underworld, he accepts his quest: "...But there, low on the horizon yet but rising, Aquarius glares mockingly, torments me in my plight- god of Electricity? Water Bringer? FALSE GOD!- OF PLAGUES, AND STOLEN SECRETS, AND MISERY!! I am no servant of yours to be sure, but what did I , this humble child of Pleiades, ever do to be stricken by your curse!? Was it I who sealed my own lips?- I know not what spirit put the evil in the lullaby that made that curse! I was born with Twilight in my eyes!, am I to suffer forever in the Void for seeing beauty in darkness? Is this more punishment for hiding my face from your coming of Age?, tit for tat, a wrong answered by a greater one? "Somewhere along the way, there must be a way to have earned forgiveness!"* Wretched, petulant, fickle Tyrant! I know not how, but if I cannot have your Blessing, you shall have my Curse, I swear it Here and Now, and as a servant of Pleiades I will raise Armies against you and You will taste your own poison!!" -excerpted from "The Book Of Ronin" (All Rights Reserved, reproduction for non-commercial use with attribution is hereby granted by the author.) *"Do What You Want"- Evanescence Ronin's quest will take him deep into the Underworld, in the Labyrinth of catacombs entertwined with the roots of the WorldTree, into his own origins and beyond, into the deepest regions of human history and the human condition, to attempt a rescue, fulfill a prophecy, and acquire Powers : to walk between Worlds at will, to create Beauty from Darkness itself, to renew himself by shedding his old skin like the dragonfly- but perhaps the greatest of all treasures, more precious than Jason's Golden Fleece, the golden thread that leads him out of the Minotaur's lair, that ties humanity together through time, woven into a fabric, the base cloth for the tapestry of humanity's more hopeful and holistic future, if they will choose it. Ronin's journey will be assisted by many others along the way: the Bard-Priest who walks through the void on a Rainbow and informs Ronin about the origins and nature of his curse; The Spirit Alchemist, an Enchantress who's name tumbles in the wind blowing across the gulf and echoes in the dim corridors of the Underworld, a Soul Nurse who knew Ronin in a past incarnation, the Seeress blinded by her own dark visions who set Ronin's Fate, and many others, perhaps a certain studious shaman with a distinctive accent, who holds the ancient Sacred Fire in his hand, preserving it for future generations of mankind to rekindle the fires that keep the terrors of the night at bay. Thank you for all you do Jon, any content you can provide, including references to other works that address the Pleiades/dragonfly connection will be much appreciated.

The story of the earth increasing when the devil touched it reminds me of the Persian myth of Yima increasing the size of the earth to accomodate its population. Yima is no earth diver and the Persians dont seem to have a flood myth. Instead for them the earth is ravaged by a terrible killing winter and Yima saves humanity, plants and animals by hiding them beneath the earth. This seems to be a story descended from the myth of humans emerging from beneath the earth combined with the myth that became the story of Noah saving living creatures from the flood.

The LORD said unto Lucifer, “Whence comest thou? Lucifer answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it”. So we are virtually living in the devils domain with the premise upon death, following the teachings of Yeshua, we seek to attain that promised heavenly eternal peace, depending on your particular religious belief. But I’ve always found it fascinating that that is one factor that is never discussed during teachings of scripture. WE IN HELL HERE ON EARTH!

Good coverage, and I'd definitely like to hear you cover Eastern Europe myths again. It makes sense that the old Hungarian myths are a combination of old religion and Christianity, as the Hungarians were a bit late to join Christianity compared to most of Europe (the Scandinavians converted around the same time as the Hungarians, 11th century-ish CE, and I think the only peoples who converted later are those who became the Baltic countries). You may want to find someone who can help you with pronunciation of names, though. I think you'd be able to say the Hungarian names (and other nationalities) decently with just a bit of coaching.

Romanian word "fârtat" is indo-europeanally related with "brother", just replace "f" with "b" and the pronouncing is similar. It means "brother" but this is somewhat lose in meaning, because for brother we would use "frate", which, again, is related and it means "brother". "Fârtat" would hint towards "pals", "companions", "brothers in arms", "comrades" or "equal partners in adventures" and so on; a "fârtat" can be a brother, a cousin or a friend, but not vice-versa always. It signifies that the adventures or activities are to be done together. A brother that you've never spoken to in the last 10 years can not be a fârtat; an active gym, fishing and pub hitting partner is a fârtat. Veterans that served together in US and are still good friends now can be named as such. "Fârtat" it is out of use now in Romanian speaking people and nobody uses it anymore. The idea behind naming the primordial twins of whose inter-clashing created the world Brother and Unbrother is simple: one is friend to the man, one is not. But, in the same time, it is not called the "enemy" or the "evil one" - it is simply called the nonbrother (unbrother) or the nonfriend (unfriend) - if someone would deem him as "the evil one" that means he will become evil himself. God can't name him Evil or Satan because God would no longer be absolute good. This is a concept hard to be grasp by Westerners, especially obese Americans, since they are very divisive and ready to split in sides and factions and take one side and demonize the other. The Unbrother with his restlessness and envy pushed the Brother and they both created the whole world, basically he's responsible of half of the Creation altogether, so he has his role; he should never be dismissed completely and obtuse as "satan". They are a specification of the twin brothers archetype, it's everywhere in pop culture as you noticed. P.S. I like your videos and I'm into mythology too and I recently started a videoblog in Romanian on the subject. The only thing that I don't like at you is that you try to unify the myths and also to "trace" them "back to Africa". I strongly believe that's not how it works, some of them are emergent or local, Out of Africa is pretty much debunked, if there are any similarities is that people were born in Euro-Asia and some migrated in Africa and Australia, not the other way around, we're not equal and that is reflective in myths. I also believe the highest peak in religion is achieved in only 3 areas: rest of Europe except North-West, Middle-East and Japan. My standard is the idea of self-sacrifice: if they have in their mythology the idea of self-sacrifice that others can live, that is the peak, because not all civilizations have it. It goes against preservation instinct and it's fundamentally human. Surprisingly, not even the West has it, or has it partially; in the West, Jesus Christ is not the one who decided to die for others to live, but the "king", who will come back and slap the sinners and reward the good-doers, like a manager of a company of some sorts.

Thank you for this. I now have a reference point to go back to, that features all of the nations I've been looking into quite deeply as of late and saved me some time having to dig through the many books, searching for what I'm looking for? This way, I can watch your video, get an idea of which mythology I need to go back to and then go straight to it. Yay! Thank you, you great time saver you 😁
