I'm glad this came out. He's such a mysterious giant.

Creed Taylor did more for the United States and really the world than just about anyone. People like Creed Taylor are creative in a way that cultivates the roots of good intentions and kindly feelings - something a politician either tries to capture or kill. It's not leaders or leadership that's important; it's those who are creative in such a way as to open up the minds and feelings of people so as to create a rock solid base to society. It doesn't surprise me that as creative people like Creed Taylor have moved on and not been replaced American society, world society, really, has gone to shit. Creed Taylor's work opened up a whole side of music for me that still benefits me to this day.

This must have been a daunting task, given that so much has been left unsaid about Creed Taylor until now. But The Snapshots Foundation have done an excellent job marking the highs and the lows of this brilliant man. I especially loved the interviews with the musicians, many of whom played on the majority of CTI's releases. And while it is common knowledge that Creed Taylor was a man of few words, he comes across as very in control of what he set out to accomplish, always thinking before he speaks. By the end of the film I felt that I had spent some precious moments with the man. If you are a huge fan of Creed Taylor, his accomplishments and the label he eventually founded, then by all means take the time to watch this excellent documentary. Kudos.
