This song was written in 1969, the year I was in Viet Nam. It could have been written yesterday. Its message is the same today as it was then. "I know the end is coming soon, I feel the river overflowing, I can hear the voice of rage and ruin." History doesn't repeat itself but it sure as hell rhymes.

1of the greatest guitar rifts of all time. Sounds great when it plays over the P.A. SYSTEM. Some people start singing. Puts me into a great mood. Love to see the old rockers get together & play this with Van Morrison singing along with all the crowd singing along? 🎶

John Fogerty played this live at Roskilde Festival '97 and the skies opened up like a biblical flood.. He followed it up with "Who'll stop the rain" and a scheduled 90 minute concert turned into a 4 hour epic CCR marathon and became one (if not) the absolutely most cherished concert experience of my life... 😎

Glad to hear this great song again. At 80 you'd think I would slow down. Like one of the other comments I'm painfully aware of Arthritis. "And God will wipe away everyvtear from their eyes, there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things are passed away. Revelation 21:4 For answers to the big questions of life, read & believe it.
