I don’t even play guitar. Out of all the covers and even the original versions, I keep coming back just to listen to your music for its own sake. That should say enough about your skill & the unadulterated sound of the guitar. From Brisbane Qld

Waiting in the pouring rain for Bruce Springsteen to appear on stage at the Etihad Stadium. Everyone was soaked and guess what he started his set with.... I'll always remember this song. Nice cover.

Love your rendition. I am a complete beginner and I am trying to figure out your strumming pattern but being a newbie I'm struggling to get it right. I couldn't find a tutorial on your site for this song, only the cover. Can you offer any help? Thanks and GREAT lessons on your site.

Thanks Georgiarose I am your most loyal follower and I like your way of teaching guitar. I would like you to teach us how to interpret rude awakening of creedence clearwater revival of your album pendulum if it is not too much to ask. Thanks for everything and greetings and a big hug from Veracruz, Mexico

Is there a tutorial for this or just the cover. You perform this beautifully and would love to learn this song. It appears there are some subtle notes being isolated in your strumming that I cannot quite pick up. Sounds beautiful.

Very well played and sung! It is nog easy, because you have very high notes in the second part of the verse . . . but you captured them very well. The sound of your guitar fits very welll to the original sound.

Hello Rene. I agree with you he makes quite a reasonable effort with the song & j.u.s.t.......about gets the high notes. He is singing in the original key, G major, but he is not John Fogerty & neither am I for that matter. I don't know why people do this. Try to play in the original key. They are out of their comfort zone with the singing. He is not playing with another instrument eg. a harmonica, or a backing track. So why dosen't he tune his guitar a half tone lower? I have my 12 string tuned a half tone down & this brings many songs into my register, which otherwise I would not be able to sing. Check out my youtube channel, Space Oddity (Major Tom) from David Bowie. This song was a request from a neighbour. (watch the video & you will know why) David Bowie sings the song in octaves. I cannot! I had to tune my guitar down one & a half tones to have half a chance of singing the song.

@@robertbrusellenglishguitarist Thanks for your reaction. It is known that John Fogerty tuned his guitar in several songs a whole note lower: so the E became the D and so on. Not because John could not get that high ... he could sing very high. Listen to 'Sail away"on his solo album 'Eye of the zombie'. Keep ons playing and singing, Robert. It is the song, that is important, not the key!

@@MrRichulan Hello Rene, The song is very well suited to the key of G major. I play this song in C major, which is ok, but the G major chords sound better. Bye-the-way my first reply was a lot longer than I can now see. Did you check out Space Oddity (Major Tom) on my youtube channel? Bye for now. Robert.

Just saw John Fogerty this past Thursday. He was terrific. Love your rendition of this song. Great guitar, and great voice. Wish you would try not to play the open strings in between your chord changes though. They just don't belong there.

Not bad! Vocals are a little flat sometimes, are you singing with your throat? If so that might be why. Overall pretty awesome cover man, post more!
