Hello Emily, and merry Christmas to you and your family! I do love my foxes. I live in a town of about 250,000 people, but at night the foxes take over the streets. It's truly wild after dark, the noises at night give me the shivers! The foxes are not usually tolerated by the locals, but I do what I can, and offer food throughout the year, and I am now good friends with a few of them. I give them food, and for some reason they think I want tennis balls in return! Exchange is no robbery I guess!!!!

A clump of pin oak trunks together is quite rare, but it sure looks like one with the telltale drooping lower branches. Maybe it was cut down a long, long time ago and then sent up 3 sucker shoots that became those trunks. i also hate Bradford Pears. Great footage of the turtles and especially the fox.

Once again Fern you have great luck spotting and getting super close to wild fox. Yes , they urinate on their territory. As a bow hunter Fox urine is a great cover scent to use too cover human scent from Whitetail deer. Just do not plan to be around people at all. It does stink ! After putting some Fox scent drops on your hunting boots keep them in a separate place and away from your vehicles heater. My buddies and I learned the hard way when we were 16. Lol You taught me about Sweet Mt. Mint. It is not up here in WI. Thank you ! Those track's in the snow with the line on the ground could be a deer with a injured leg that drags, Possum, or a Otter. I could not see enough of the track's there to tell for certain ? Nice walk for a cool day. I will check out the Struts song. I have one for you Stephen Wilson Jr. Anything from" Son of a Dad" CD. Another fox I can't believe that, you are a foxy lady lol. I rarely glimpse one, yours seem tame, the ones I see are running away. And how does that turtle live without breathing? So that's where pin oak come from huh? Sometimes they plant those here for landscaping, they grow pretty fast. I think the patterns in the ice was my favorite, except maybe the story about the kids, that sounded like a memorable trip.
@PACreekWalkerАй бұрын
@jeffphillips73 all I know is that the turtle's breathing slows down a lot. We have enough fox around here, that there is a lot of fox roadkill sadly

Hi Em’. Good job on the Fox sighting, they’re pretty wary creatures. And I know what ya mean about the smell, they are territorial. Kind of a musky almost skunkish urine odor, to me. Know the spot you are walking there and I’m a bit surprised the water is still so low. I’m sure it’ll recover. The beavers who’ve relocated might have to again when the water rises back to normal. Thanks for the video. Stay well.

That is not a Red tailed Hawk. That is a Northern Harrier! The circular pattern on the face, the white patch at the base of the tail, and the shallow v shape in flight are some field marks I can see in your video. The only other raptor with v shape instead of flat- wings is the Turkey Vulture. Watching Harrier's is fun because they do these low patrols over the fields. When they find prey do an exciting flutter pause turn pounce move and drop down into the grass. The females and the males look very different with the females being brownish and the males grey. They are called the Grey Ghost sometimes.
