John you have more courage than any two people I know. I have watched you put your feet in some interesting places but today this was as sketchy as I can remember. I respect and salute you my friend.

I like the "dare to " attitude and adventurous spirit John. I feel the kinship as most people talk to you around the water unless you spook an unsuspecting lady watching for creek delinquents...then shots are fired. Others find me in the grocery store and ask about something. I answer obligingly since that's somebody's mom or grandma.... The chance encounter provided a couple of new ponds to check out. Bring your ultralight brother. Blessings

My kind of fishing! I often see how small a fish I can catch rather than how big.

Conscious of the graffiti, I'm sure it was a Doozy. Hot and dry here in Indiana. Hopefully rain this weekend. Our local reservoir is as low as I've ever seen it.

I've waded many a urban creek in my younger days Fly Fishing top water. Caught some big ones in three to four foot deep water. Low water means small fish. Always look for pools. All creeks follow the same pattern. The fast rapid water is going to scoop out a pool just down from the run. That's where larger fish will be. The tail out from the pool will lead to a rapid again and the whole cycle starts over again. I can't wade anymore at 72 my balance isn't as reliable as in younger days. But I sure did have fun when I could! Now from the bank is all I can do. I'm down south so water is never cold to wade in! lol.

It winds up pretty far before it reaches the lake. I've been really curious about putting a kayak in up the creek, but lots of fallen trees between there and the lake. ;) I used to live within walking distance of this one. Would also be a good place to look for Native American artifacts, as well.

I've been wondering what that rod/reel setup is. Looks like a Lews, but I'm not sure. Can you share the specs?

Interesting urban creek exploration. Urban = human trash and auto tires. I believe I counted 5 tires in this video walk a bout. Although you have once again proved that you can catch fish from anywhere ..... even a mud puddle ! LOL ! That spot under the bridge looked a little sketchy, hope you had your "friend S&W" with you ! Always be careful. Pap Blevins

Hey John, what an adventure that was. Question, were you using the TFO ultralight? It looked like a Lews rod. Haven’t found an ultralight that I’m happy with yet. Most are way too whippy making it hard to set the hook.

Oh, dude, if you're not caught up on your tetanus shot, do it. It's cheap and readily available. Too many long used hooks having gone through water of many bodies... all it takes is a prick.
