I don't fish nor do I really do anything outdoorsy except go to the beach lol but something about your content is so interesting and soothing at the same time. Love it. My dad was a fishermen, more saltwater and deep sea but seeing you do this and take your daughter sometimes really brings back great memories. Yesterday would have been his 82 birthday and seeing this today really made me think of him and smile. Thanks again!

I have a big old 180 gallon aquarium which is at the moment, empty. I would love more than anything to be able to put several species of sunfish and maybe a very small bass in it. I'd go myself and get them, but unfortunately, I'm no longer able to. I got hit by a drunk driver a few years back when he jumped the curb and came up on the sidewalk where I was walking from my car to work. It would be great fun to be able to watch them up close in the aquarium, but since that isn't likely to ever happen, having these videos and other is a decent second best. When I was a kid I had a pet sunfish which I had caught in a local area pond. It tamed up really nice, and I got it to the point where it would eat out of my hand. When fall rolled around, my parents insisted that I return it to the pond from which it came. I sent him back much fatter than he was when I first brought him home, and fatter than any sunfish I have ever seen in that pond. I'm sure I gave him a good enough head start wo that he would make it through our brutally cold winters. The top three feet of the water will freeze solid in January, and there isn't much to eat. The only fish that make it are the ones which managed to eat the best during the summer. The rest die off, and get frozen into the ice. In the spring, dozens of bald eagles and some ospreys line the lake, and as soon as they thaw enough to be exposed, the Eagles, ospreys, and the occasional seagull will squabble over it, even though they'll only be able to pick on the parts which are exposed. They will stand in circles waiting for a little bit more to thaw our. They eat well through the spring. Any scraps that don't get eaten by the birds eventually go to the bottom, where the catfish eventually slurp them up, as for a catfish, rotten fish, even if it's the same species and even if it's just rotten entrails, are nothing short of a gourmet meal. I'll let them have my share. At present, I can't even go out to where I can see fish swimming in water, which is why I wish I could have some in a fish tank. All of you fellas don't know how lucky you are. Or maby you do. Walking, and fishing, and other such activities are way under rated.

I used to fish that first spillway 15-20 years ago. It used to be really really good. That spot where the heron tried to get your popper used to be really deep, there were gar and decent cats in there. Used to sight fish carp with a fly rod when it was actually flowing. That creek was the first place I fished when I moved to texas

I do ALOT of north Texas creek fishing on my channel and they have been rough this year after the flooding in April and May. They have less water in them than they did in 2023 which makes no sense unless the flood water broke a bunch of levees and spillways or something. Who knows, but I love creek fishing too man, good stuff 👊🏽.

Drum are fun to catch. I catch them occasionally with worms they put up a good fight for their size. And they are a really good tasting fish. I first tried them when I was younger me and my friends were camping and caught a couple. We were trying to catch catfish for dinner and only caught little catfish. So we fillet the drum and breaded them and fried them. They have white flakey meat and have good flavor we both agreed. So later on in life I kept a few I caught and had some others try it and many said it's some of the best fish they ate. You should do a catch and cook with one of you catch a nice healthy one not one out of that creek catch a lake one

I doubt you will see this, rock creek (the Nolan river) in Blum, Texas has probably the best overall fishing. From 20 pound carp to little blue gills, and all in between. All of the fish are getting trapped, but have deep pockets so hopefully they last the dry season. But you should definitely check it out!
