I had some good fortune from one video. Same thing happened, he put up some signs. I was sad in the video, but understanding to the owner cuz bank fisherman use to trash up the place before the signs and fence. I basically vented about others trashing it up. Somehow he watched my video and appreciated what I said. Then he allowed me to continue to fish. Score!

I learned about fishing road-side creeks watching Creek Fishing Adventures. I recently caught a 3lb largemouths off a bridge over a small creek I never would have thought about fishing. The creek was very shallow, but had some deep holes. That was where I caught her. Thanks!!!

I caught a really colorful red breast yesterday while fishing a spillway that flows right out of a private pond in to a creek then under the road so you can fish both sides as cars go by. It's not the safest I guess but you never know what your going to catch which makes it interesting and I caught a new species the other day wasn't even sure what it was but after researching it ended up being a creek chub. As it started getting dark I noticed something swimming around not sure but I hope it's a a fish and not a dang beaver. I haven't ever caught a carp so I'm hoping that is what it is but even a catfish would be fine definitely don't want to hook a beaver. I enjoy your videos Thanks and I'm looking forward to the next

Fine video, John! I recall a few other videos where you fished at that same creek & culvert. You always seem to make some pretty interesting catches there! I do hope that land owner had a REAL GOOD REASON for putting up those no trespassing signs, & didn't just do it because they've become fickle headed and/or arrogant! I say that because back in WV. (where I called home, from 1986 to 2013), there was part of a rural country road that was closed off in about 1992, because of a really old, medium sized, metal framed bridge, which was deteriorating, & hasn't been replaced yet, the last I heard! Anyway, in about 2010 or so, I decided to park my car near that ol' bridge, & try to do some fishing near it, & before I could even get down to the water, this guy appeared out of nowhere, telling me that it was private property, & that I couldn't fish there, and after a short, calm, yet rather weird conversation with this dude, I politely got into my car and left, and went and fished in a usual spot, a good ways downstream. About a week later, I decided to go a round-about route and come down to that bridge from the other direction, & try to fish near the opposite end. Well, UNBELIEVEABLY, before I could even get to the water once again, here come this same dude, telling me the as before, that I COULD NOT FISH THERE!! I quickly left, & went home, and called the DNR, who told me that this dude could not legally keep me from fishing RIGHT AT that bridge! I recall asking them if they could send me a letter stating that, so that I could show it to this guy, should I try to fish there again. If memory serves correct, I believe they ask me which house (near that bridge), that this guy came from, & I told them! If I recall correctly, they told me that they couldn't send me the letter I had asked about, but that they would send someone to talk to the guy, & that if he gave THEM any guff, they would take some sort of action against him. I dunno if they ever sent anyone to talk to the guy or not, 'cause a short time later, my car was stolen, and was found to have been sold to a salvage yard & SUPPOSEDLY, immediately crushed!!! Anyway, I didn't have a car again for a while so that I co& en I eventually picked up & moved to the west coast for several years. Anyway, it's just a dang shame that there ARE some people out there that WILL post signs, for no good reason at all, & as I said before, I sure hope that's not what's happened in your case! God Bless & Highest Regards Always! Ron Abilene, TX.
@Ron-vq3zl Жыл бұрын
P.S. Guess I should add that while the guy in my story DID have a "No Parking sign or two in front of his house, (which btw; was about 2 lots away from the bridge), there weren't any "No Trespassing" signs posted AT or NEAR the spots adjacent to the bridge where I wanted to fish! Also, I'm sure by now that some of you must be wondering the same thing I did on the 2nd day that this guy "shewed me away," which was/is this: "Fella, do you sit at your window, or on your porch or something all day long, just to specifically watch for people who want to fish near that bridge???!!" GOOD GRIEF!!! R.

We are all looking for that next piece of water to explore and the one thing we can always predict is change. I grew up lucky. I had a half a mile of creek a bit larger than what you were fishing but by no means a river. We caught red eye bass all manners of sunfish, chubbs and occasionally rainbow brook and brown trout. Later on I turnned it into a trophy trout stream with fish up to 9 lbs caught. Then suddenly a lot of change happened upstream on government property and it was no longer a viable trout stream. Now it's a creek again like it was when I was a kid. We still have the rental cabins from the trophy trout days but now it more family oriented and I see kids doing what I did as a kid. If you are looking for new water to catch those creek fish in let me know. I believe the effort you make to entertain should be rewarded by those of us that watch your work so my stretch of creek and a couple nights in a cabin is always open to you if your interested.

Good day of fishing. The warmer weather sure makes a big difference. I see that a lot. Owners let you fish the creeks on their land with no problem. Then, a bunch of people come out and trash the place. The owner is only protecting his property which I can't fault him for that. It just stinks that a few disrespectful people ruin it for the rest of us.

What line do you recommend for creek fishing ? Mono , braid ?
@TheOutdoorsVlog Жыл бұрын
I know you are asking John but, I typically use mono because of the rocks. Mono will stretch and last longer against abrasive rock than braid.
@CreekFishingAdventures Жыл бұрын
4 lb mono is great all around for light action
@omaraparicio884 Жыл бұрын
@@CreekFishingAdventures Do certain brands of mono have an advantage over others, or are they all relatively similar in quality?
@omaraparicio884 Жыл бұрын
@@TheOutdoorsVlog Are you also using mono for bass fishing? With so many fishing lines available, it's overwhelming to choose from. Although I'm interested in trying braid, it seems like a hassle to tie a mono or fluorocarbon leader.
@TheOutdoorsVlog Жыл бұрын
@@omaraparicio884 For bass fishing I use a variety, although, I do use mono more often than not because I fish with light tackle and soft plastics most. It depends greatly on the area I'm fishing and what type of lure I'm using. if I am fishing with a crank bait or hard jerk bait, for instance, I typically use flourocarbon. If I am fishing with a football jig, I am likely to be using Finns braided line. I hope that helps.
