Hi Gracie, I'm back on this now... ❤When I watched your reaction for the first time it was in the morning with my coffee before I had to go to work, so I didn't have much time to comment and give you due respect for your wonderful reaction. So let me take some time now to mention a few points that caught my attention: First of all: I've already said on other occasions I'm amazed about how you get into music in an instant and are able to translate it into great body language in real time, even anticipating what's about to happen next, so when it occurs you're already there spot on, no delay... but not only your perception and reflection of music reveals your very musical soul, you're actually a pretty good singer, not only hitting the notes, but also the tone and emotion that go with it... with a little practice you'd be able to give solid renditions of songs yourself... Did you ever do Karaoke? Now about some of your remarks: You say "when people sing like this..." and then you mention Christina Aguilera and Angelina Jordan... I don't know much about Christina, but often heard her being mentioned as an awesome vocalist, so maybe I should check her out... in the morning I heard her sing that snippet of Creep I sent you the link to, but that was too short to get a good impression, so let me listen to another song by her, I'll be right back... (...) ... OK - WOW! I chose "Something's Got A Hold On Me" because I know and love the song sung by little Angelina, and it had "burlesque" in the title which is a style I love, and I must say her performance blew me away, I can clearly see what you mean, she's awesome and I'll definitely check out more by her... Congratulations, though I've heard her name a million times you have been the first person who got me curios enough to check her out, and you were spot on again, Christina, just like Haley or Angelina has one of THOSE voices!!! I'll link the video I watched, it's awesome and in case you don't know it you might even consider doing a reaction video as you love her already and know it will be a treat... and after that or even in the same video you might go and watch how Angelina as a young girl (12 years old here) delivered the song... hilarious, both of them... So thanks a lot for doing a reaction that again exceeded my expectations and was very rewarding though I had watched like a hundred or more other reactions to this stellar performance before ... ❤ Now you've heard Haley twice, covering two classic songs, one very tenderly and with only Casey's great piano along her voice and this one with a very skilled jazz band to back up her exceptional vocal performance in which she's going all over the place, displaying every vocal technique known to humanity and some more..., - so if you're ready let's take it one step further - if you will, please check the following video which will present Haley with one of her original songs, and this time with a full fledged big orchestra behind her, dozens of classically trained great musicians rolling out a red carpet for Haley, but she doesn't walk on it, she's floating three feet above the ground... The first two ones were nice, this one raises the bar a bit higher, a musical performance that will stand the test of time and can easily stand against some of the greatest musical recordings ever done... The location of this is an abandoned Grand Hotel in the Austrian Alpes, not too far away from where I am living, so the landscape you'll get to see in the introduction and ending of the video looks pretty much similar to my place, it's not as mountainous here, but you'd only have to drive like 30 minutes to the south to find yourself in a spot that feels exactly like the one in this gorgeous video. No, not at all except for a few words loke "Sayonara" - but during the past two years or so I'm discovering more and more Japanese artists I really dig, some really great singers, and somehow they are very unique, they way they pick up "western" songs and musical traditions and blend them with their own heritage in a way that is respectless and respectful at the same time has something about it... Here's a great singer with a very emotional song, had me cry like a baby for about the first 20 times I watched this, even before I knew about the lyrics...
