about the energy production feeling unimportant. the energy is also used to produce ammo, which will become an issue in later maps. i am currently through most of the campaign and i am constantly low on energy when all ships are in combat. i really hope to get some more reactors soon, 8 are not enough anymore. and as you have seen during the video, you will have to rebuild ships constantly if you make a mistake and push too hard. so needing some time to build ships, and being limited in how many you can rebuild at once, is a good decision on the developers part. though i agree with you that the game would feel pretty much the same without the energy mechanic. though there would be a clear difference in the very early game, because you could rush to defeat one or two emitters without any issues or consequences, which you definitely can't in the current gameplay version and i think that is for the best.

I've already beaten the game, and, spoilery opinions ahead: I don't really feel that's true at all. You never are given so much weaponry that you cannot support the ammo production, so it's really just a matter of start map->build reactors->wait while they build up-> make all ur stuff. Once you've done that, energy is pointless. I don't think I ever once was running out of energy based on ammo usage. They always gave enough reactors that energy >= ammo cost, and enough to cover the odd thing you need to build once in a while like a replacement ship or nullifier. It's incredibly different in a game like CW4 where you have an actual economy to manage, and every bit of income is meaningful. In this game its very much just "fire and forget" and for the most part, there IS NO economy. If you're speedrunning or whatever there might be something interesting to it. But otherwise not really. (the only exception is the final mission giving you the 4 factories which, you don't have the energy to fuel all of them, but that's its own thing)

@@Krydax8 that was exactly the mission i was thinking about😅 though there are other missions where the ammo upkeep is nearly the same as the income. though as you said, it is never negative.
