Released on Metallica's Ride the Lightning album, Creeping Death is themed around the Biblical story of God sending plagues upon Egypt to punish the Pharaoh who refused to set the Hebrew slaves free.
The name "creeping death" is Metallica's interpretation of the fog that consumed Pharaoh's palace.
A brutally heavy song that includes a simple but fast melody, blistering lead breaks, and winds up with an aptly sounding outro.
Creeping Death showcases the versatility of guitarist Kirk Hammett's playing and songwriting and the thundering drums of Lars Ulrich; shored up by heavy riffs from guitarist James Hetfield and incomparable bassist Cliff Burton.
But the best part of this performance is me with my fantastic son on drums. This is our cover.
Enjoy!
