Amateurs and the clueless call it losing tempo or fucking up. He plays to a riff rather than trying to control a riff. Tommy Lee is the same. Lars is respected by a lot of other drummers who actually have a clue. The weakness in the band to me is Kirk. Messes up way too much. Even the beginning of Nothing Else Matters which can be played with no fret input. C'mon man..
