The builder bear is actually pretty sweet though if it's the one I remember right. The infinite IKEA is terrifying. Might as well be another form of the back rooms. People get lost and they literally form factions because time works differently in there. You can either be gone for days or centuries. I like the "box" metaphor. It's incredibly simplified but goes as follows: - SAFE: If you can put it in a box and leave it alone, and it does not escape, it is Safe. - EUCLID: If you can put it in a box and leave it alone, and there is no telling what will happen, it is Euclid. (pretty much anything sentient) - KETER: If you can put it in a box and leave it alone, and it escapes with ease, it is Keter. - THAUMIEL: If it IS the box, it is Thaumiel.

To let you know, there’s not really an official fixed “canon” for the SCP universe. The SCP wiki is made up totally of fan creations meaning in most cases elements are not consistent between stories. Though they tend to share commonalities, it’s entirely possible (and I’ve seen it) that in one SCP story the SCP foundation is unheard of, while in another they are completely open about who they are and what they do. This means you can basically make whatever story you want with it and no one will bat an eye. As well as why things like the infinite IKEA can exist since no company owns the SCP universe, it doesn’t have a company that can be sued. Edit: Grammar + Elaboration

In my opinion the best way to easily explain SCP categories is still the locked box test: -If you lock it up in a box and nothing bad happen it's a Safe -If you lock it up in a box and weird shit may or may not happen it's an Euclid -If you lock it up in a box and it easily escapes it's a Keter -If it is the box it's a Thaumiel -If it no longer needs a box it's a Neutralized, if the Foundation is the reason why it's a Decomissioned. -If it doesn't fit in any box and is about to end the world it's an Apollyon -If you could lock it up but decided it was better not to it's an Archon -If you realized it never needed to be locked up in a box to begin with it's an Explained.
@Wonton-the-Sea-Snail
@Wonton-the-Sea-Snail Жыл бұрын
simplest explanation for all the classes: safe = it goes in the box and stays in the box euclid = pay attention because it will try to get out of the box keter = we'll be lucky if it stays in the box for 5 minutes neutralized = no need for box, its dead thaumiel = it IS the box archon = its better if its NOT in a box apollyon = forget the box, we're all gonna die

27:50 Forward writing amnestic drugs, which prevent new memories from writing to long term storage, do exist. However, something that can delete specific amounts of long term memory, like the stuff SCP writers like to use, is still fictional. Amnestic drugs are usually mixed into surgical anesthesia, so if a patient wakes up during surgery, they won't have to live with the memory of it.

I love the atmospheric dread of SCP horror. Where creepypastas make you want to check you closet and under your bed for monsters SCP does the exact opposite. The monster is nowhere near you. It doesn't need to be near you. It can still affect you. It's not new. It has always been there. There is nothing you can do about it. There is nothing anyone can do about it. There has never been anything anyone could ever have done about it. It is inevitable. Ignore it and go about your life. Join the foundation's desperate struggle to stop it. Break down in despair. Worship it as your new god. In the end it doesn't matter. You and your entire universe will still be erased. That eldritch horror aspect is amazing.

Honestly, the best way to get into SCP is to start reading some of the articles or, in your case, reacting to some videos where they read the actual SCPs. I highly recommend the Volgun: his voice work is phenomenal and the visuals he pairs with it are great. To start off with, you probably want to stick with some of the shorter to mid-length entries that aren't so esoteric, so probably some of the early series. Some favorites are 087 "the endless stairs", 096 "the shy guy", 3008 "infinite ikea", 1471 "MalO ver1.0.0", 999 "the tickle monster", 1048 "builder bear", 3108 "the nerfing gun", 049 "the plague doctor", and a personal favorite of mine 4999 "someone to watch over us". And, if you want something really disturbing, I'd suggest 231 "special personnel requirements" (procedure 110 Montauk), 2316 "field trip" (you do not recognize the bodies in the water), and 4666 "the yule man".

Oh man, it's the thing I obsessed over for most of my teenage years. The SCP world can be funny, scary, dramatic, or jsut plain interesting, but it's honestly really difficult to fully descibe it all in short. Just by how decentralized it is, it makes it really easy to read any old article (or watch any old video) that catches your eye because there's no throughline, no overarching story, just a core setting and some occasional references (for the most part). And for as much as I like this Volgun video, I just keep thinking it's a bit of an awkward introduction to just have all this dry theory thrown at you. The vast majority of SCP videos (both his and others, e.g. The Exploring Series) work pretty well as standalone stories that let you pick up most of the background passively. That said, I do hope you find some SCPs that interest you, maybe just from a thumbnail or title, there's a lot being offered.

Here's a way I learned how to classify and understand SCP's, it's called the Box method: Safe: If an SCP is is put in a box and it stays in the box, then it's safe. Euclid: If an SCP is is put in a box but your not sure if it will say in the box, then it's Euclid. Keter: If an SCP is is put in a box and it immediately starts to try and break out of the box, then it's Keter. Thaumiel: If an SCP is the box itself, then it's Thaumiel. Apollyon: If an SCP is too big to put into the box, then it's Apollyon. Archon: If an SCP is put in a box, but things get worse if you do, then It's Archon. Ticonderoga: If an SCP is too big to put in a box, but is deemed better that way, then it's Ticonderoga.

Honestly the toaster is horrifying, Its a regular ass toastir that whenever you refer to it you are forced to state in in the first person, thus why its title is "i am a toaster", not only that but sliwly overtime you will begin to think your a toaster, shoving bread into yourself trying to toast it or trying to plug yourself into things, usually resulting to death. Some great ones to check out is - Scp-049 - the plague doctor - great to start with Scp-096- the shy guy - another great one to start with Scp-682 - the lizard - also a great one to start with Scp-106 - the statue - great one to start with Scp-3812 - a voice behind me - amazing yet confusing story, only recommend once you get used to the scp universe Scp-001 - tufto's proposal - scarlet king - good one but shouldnt start with it Scp-3008 - the infinite ikea - another great one to start with Scp-001 - when day breaks - good one to if your into horror but shouldnt start with Scp-049-j - the plague fellow - based off of scp-049 so you should watch that before this, extremely funny though Scp-343 - God - good to start with

Wow didn't expect to see this today, the scp world is deep and complicated and over all knowing where to start is confusing but there are a few that I would recommend scp 096, scp 682, scp 3008, and scp 049 are all good starting points and the Volgun has videos on most if not all of them though other channels also have videos on them as these are the scps most people know and remember. Another good place to start is the d class training tape as while it's not an scp it slightly clues you I on what the d class go through and it's short.

Would HIGHLY recommend more vids from this guy. Probably the best SCPtuber out there. Honestly, I've known about SCP for so long that the idea of someone knowing literally NOTHING about it is alien to me. My jaw dropped every time you mentioned you'd never heard of a particular one. Then I realized I was just being silly and it made total sense that some people hadn't. I can't recall the number, but my favorite SCP has the title "Just Another Murder Monster."

Good greetings Aliciaxdeath! A cool thing, that you reacted to this Introduction video of the weird, horrifying and fantastical SCP UNIVERSE. Also, This comment is a short comprehension of Channels, that make SCP Videos. This serves a selection of SCP Channels, if you want to react to SCP more and what SCP Channel to react from (if we hit the 2000 likes). SECTION A VERY GOOD OR BEST INFORMATIVE OF SCP LORE The Exploring Series- Goes in-depth in Exploring (pun not intended) and explaining SCPs, Group of Interest, and the SCP Universe. For me it' a recommend channel as it's break down complicated SCP's and lore in the SCP Universe, but you must be aware, in the videos of The Exploring Series, shows only Images to depict/represent the SCP in question. But it's still a cool channel TheVolgun A Channel that read SCP-Entries. TheVolgun has also create Depiction to make it more visualizes and uses often times voices the Characters in the story. Dr. Maxwell - SCP Readings A SCP reading Channel. Also have voice actors to voice specific Characters. NomadicArchives A SCP reading Channel. SCP Un[REDACTED] A SCP Reading Channel. Also have voice actors to voice specific Characters. Dr Bob A SCP animation Channel. A good animation channel considered by me. Eastside Show SCP A Channel, who reads SCP Articles. SCP Archives A Channel, who reads SCP Articles Tats TopVideos A Channel, who makes 3D Animation about SCPs, and also have a Series called Sedition, that is a ask the SCP a question sorta stuff. SCP Orientation A Channel, who read SCP Articles and also created depictions of the SCP in question. MR. ILLUSTRATED A Channel, who reads SCP Articles and also created Arts depiction to make it more, for the audience, imaginable. SECTION B NOT GENERALLY REGARDED AS THE BEST OR INFORMATIVE OF SCP LORE The Rubber A SCP animation Channel. This Channel is...to be honest not very good, is very little to kid-friendly and mixes a little bit with other Tales of the related SCP that creates a confusing narrative /story and also, the videos only touches upon the little to the SCP meaning it only reads a little portion of the SCP in question leaving most of the story out, which is very confusing. SCP Explained - Story & Animation A SCP animation Channel. In the beginning, they created exaggerated and / or false videos of SCP in question. However, now in present times, they are a "okay" Channel and uses the right information to present the SCP. Not my cup of tea, but if you like SCP animation channel...well here. They do provide some visuals perspective to be fair. Detective Void Not also a good Channel too, as he have exaggerated and / or false information of the SCP. There was also a incident where a Channel, who also react SCP content, got a copy strike. The reason was because, he watched a video of Detective Void but it's also ridiculous because SCP are creative commons means EVERYONE CAN React, make art and content out of it. But yeah, in my opinion, avoid that Channel

Now even SCP, this is slowly becoming my favourite channel xD And I'm not a V-Tuber-Person, I don't care about that aspect at all. But let me take the chance to thank you real quick. I like reactions and I like anime. But this is different. Watching all those things with you is like watching it with a close friend who is genuinely invested. It's so much fun even watching new anime with you. It's barely cut, it's fun, it feels real and is so much more fun as watching new anime alone. Thank you for a lot of joy in the last weeks, where I found your channel, I check in daily :-) I wish you the best, hope you're good after your surgery and really looking forward to see you catch up to One Piece in the future :-) One Piece I do know and rewatched it 3x already, but it's still cool seeing you catch up :-) slowly, but we are getting there xD

My favorite SCP is the exponential motion ball. If it gains any momentum, it will keep accelerating forever until it effectively becomes a bullet. The only way to contain it is to confine it in a constantly shrinking space until it physically can't move anymore. I like those kinds of stories. No grand plot or complicated backstory, just a weird anomoly.

Also, Two Fun Fact The First Fact: There are now more over 7000 SCP's now in the SCP Wiki. The Second Fact: There is a rule to mention about the SCP Universe. In fiction, canon refers to the source material like a element of a character, event, etc that is officially present or true in the story The rule is that "Nothing and Everything Is Canon." It means because the SCP Universe is not created by a single author or writer instead being a community of thousands of thousands of writers and authors, there is no canon meaning no set of rules of what you can write. If you write an SCP article that destroys the entire universe in the year 1990, but another SCP article from a different author presents a SCP that was found in the year 2022. Practically anyone can write and add to the SCP universe, assuming their writing is up to snuff, and because of this, there is no official canon. This explains the "Nothing is Canon" phrase but what does the "Everything is Canon" phrase It means that while nothing is canon in the SCP Universe, everything is canon, as any submission to the lore is equally valid or invalid, depending on your perspective. Thus everything is still canon. In one universe, this SCP does not exist while another universe it does. I hope this explanation had helped you in some way.

It is very funny hearing that the last SCP is number 3999 in this video, considering we now have over _7000_ of them. One is a contained giant deer that’s actually the god Saturn, one is a deadly species of insect that takes the form of a 30 ft long school bus, one is the ordinary toaster that I am, and one is straight up just the state of Massachusetts.

From personal experience: the SCP rabbithole can be a great thing while you're sick or recovering from surgeries. They're short and mostly fairly easy reading. Just keep in mind that if a SCP or story seems too confusing for you, mark it to come back to later. Some of the best ones don't land well through brain fog, but you can spot those pretty well. One bonus of reading them in recovery is that you can read them again in a couple months and it'll be like reading them for the first time, save for some creepy deja vu.

Here are some of my recommendations for diving into the SCP foundation Dr. Clef's 001 Proposal: A great SCP in general, but also providing context for a later SCP. Also look up the Scarlet King . . . but maybe stay away from the one that implies his release onto the world, 231 . . . Even though it's never directly stated the implications are . . . horrifying. 096: Probably the second most famous, but also probably exceeding 173 because of the awesome short film based on him. Amazing watch. 173: Probably the most famous SCPs, and the originator of the blinking mechanic in the games. 179: A really good Thamiel class and one of my favorites from how enigmatic she is but still a benevolent force that is looking out for the Earth, not just humanity. 999: Just a great Safe class that will bleach you from the rest of these. 2173: Another great Thamiel class that is seemingly silly, but also a lens on the hubris of the Foundation, while also show casting the good they could do if they stopped pussyfooting about ethics. Also you should read up on the Gate Guardian proposal of 001 before this one for some much needed context. 3008: The Infinite Ikea, a strange and seemingly silly SCP that is actually haunting. 3041: A knife . . . that shows that just because something is classified as safe doesn't mean it is. 4043: A rare example of the Archon class. It is also a great example of an SCP that breaks the conventions in a brilliant way to tell a tragic but hopeful story. 4051: A frustrating story about why the neutrality of the Foundation does way more harm than good. Even with a perfectly willing to help and, frankly, overpowered SCP just flops into their lap and they still fuck it up.

You should definitely look up the builder bears and infinite Ikea. Serfect things for you to see how SCP stories can turn the silly into some really creepy and messed up stuff (and vice versa in some instances). Also maybe the Flesh That Hates (dont remember the number for it) since its pretty classic SCP stuff imo. EDIT: I wouldnt say you need to finish this video per say. You can just jump into some stories and go from there. You can even do videos from the same guy (Volgun). Would usually also suggest a certain animated series but... yeah... less of a gfood option these days. lol

ah, i remember when i first got into SCP...a friend introduced me and i was like, "are these where all those random creepypasta-like stuff youve been posting in our friend group server comes i got quite far into SCp after that, well, further than that friend anyway. I get the feeling he got tired of me sending him interesting SCP stuff a few months after I got started for example, there's an anomalous toaster that, when referred to by anyone, forces them to talk about it in first person. so, instead of, "this is a toaster," the person is forced to say, "I am a toaster," relatively harmless, but prolonged exposure can warp the minds of those affected by it to truly believe they themselves are a toaster. I think the story of when it got found had the SCP guys find just a family all doing toaster stuff like trying to plug into a wall socket, stick a piece of bread into a nonexistent slot, etc. there's also a pile of wood chippings currently being used as mulch for a planter of flowers that can teleport. it used to be a chair, that would teleport itself under anyone who wanted to take a seat, so a generally pleasant and non-hostile SCP, unfortunately it was found by a rivaling organization, who tried to destroy anomalous objects rather than contain them, and they stuck the chair into a wood chipper. The resulting wood chippings seem to be quite traumatized, as when anything that reminds it of its trauma appears, most usually uniformed humans, the wood chippings would teleport itself into the lungs of the offending trigger and kill them, before then teleporting back into the planter. Containment procedures include regularly tending to the flowers and complimenting them, remarking that the wood mulch was definitely the cause for such beautiful flowers. And there's also a tomato plant that hurls its tomatoes at anyone telling a bad joke near it. One time someone told a joke so bad that the plant launched a tomato at the guy at mach speed.
