Pro tip: Don't lean up against the door to shut it against someone else, esp if they're armed. What you do is, you take the tip of your shoe, and you shove it into the gap between the bottom of the door and the floor as hard as you possibly can. Even if the door doesn't have a lock, or the lock breaks, it will not be opening purely because it can't. It's also a lot more difficult for the person on the other side to judge where you are or un-jam the door. The harder it's pushed on, the less the door will open. Also pretty rare to find a door that has a gap that's either too big or too small for this trick to work. (If you're thinking really quick, take your shoe off and then jam it under, so you can walk away from the door completely. But either way, hurt toes are always better than stab wounds or getting shot.)

Jaded and Empty in all seriousness, what door found in the average home, couldn’t a bullet pass through? The stuffing your shoes and hiding is great, but if you’re standing behind a door and the person on the other side is perusing with a loaded weapon, you’re getting shot.

Not too creepy to me. Sounds like soutern Dutch catholic church . The priest prays first then all church people anwser with something like " Our father we hear you", priest prays short again and everyone answers " Father we obey you" ect. Yes, we did walk out in a line , called procession. And yes, in my hometown we had a church in the forest. Maybe not woods because we don't have serious woods, but we did have a church in the middle of the forest. At special occasions, not necessarily Catholic occasions but like farming days like, midsomar or when the ice saints leave and take the last chance for frost with them, or even annual the crowning of the light queen but also eastern ect. there was a night mass in the church in the forest and the priest would blesh the land, animals and crops. Just with prayers, holy water and with eastern a blessed twig of Boxwood you can take home after, nothing else. It was a very specials atmosphere, nothing creepy. So maybe it was just some people keeping some old European traditions alive. Don't live in the area anymore but wouldn't mind going there to witness it.

When we were searching for our very rural property I came across a very big house on a giant patch of land for very cheap. The house was around 3500sq ft...with land a little over 20 acres for well under 150k. A house that size was not what we wanted...but I kept my eye on it anyways...maybe if it was still available in a few months when we'd drive from Minnesota to Washington to look at properties. Every week, I'd check to see if there were any more pictures of the inside of this house. Finally, they added pictures. The house looked normal...cheap building materials appliances and fixtures...no biggie for me. Near the end of the photos, it showed a giant room, filled with pews..a church. Then it showed the upstairs....rooms that were more like stalls. I decided to stop checking on that place because I couldn't understand why it would be out there...why they would house so many people in stalls. Oddly, it sold as soon as those pictures were added anyways. I guess people like that kinda thing. It could have been a 18 kids and counting thing, but there was something way more sinister about this place. No thanks.

That attempted murder charge shouldn't have been dropped. There was clear premeditation, pushing the dumpster in front of the door to block their escape is what gets me. I don't like it, bt this happens more often than not. That guy is very likely to reoffend, since he was on drugs and alcohol, who's to say he won't be able to settle into the same routine after release. Too many violent offenders sing the right tunes to the parole board and get out way too early. The owl story should've been reported to the local police as suspicious activity. A lure (a recording) was set in a secluded area in a high risk part of the park.

I was suffering from sleep apnea so I put this on bc it relaxes me. I didnt fall asleep this time like usual. Anyways, um just wanna say I agree with most if all these comments.....GREAT READING!. 2-3 STORIES are GOOD, the REST....UM WTH(heck), WHAT'S WITH THE SNOWFLAKES?!?! Glad they're safe, but really, were they in danger-danger? The owl one...people put recordings of injured animals especially owls so that it draws in other owls. Owls are dedicated mammals who will search and even stay near after the distress calls are done in hopes they find the other owl. Could be just as simple as that. An owl injured would be on the ground. Owls do not like the ground as much. In trees is safety. They will search in hopes of finding the injured one. I was kidnapped, stolen, and beaten. I was suffering from not sleeping and typed my (TRUE) story in a persons (Shanghaimartin) comment below. Your welcome to read it. I've never had to type or write it so it may be choppy plus i was tired. They dictated it for me so not even back then I didnt write it down, I was too much of a mess. My wrist and fingers hurt too bad. On a side note my friend read it and he said i should explain better like its a back butt road in middle of nowhere woods and also that i swung the log with zipties on my wrist. It was a split piece of wood off of a tree so could hold it decent. Also that i was ziptied from the back but during the 4 state ride Im super flexible and brought my hands to the front and he had me keep my feet up on seat and top half of body down on floor.

My TRUE scary story First, for some context, I'm a young male and I live with my family in a more remote part of Ohio, I live in a small town and my family is relatively new here. We have lived here for almost a year and a half, my house is in the country, the house has a field to the left of it and above it, and a large field to the right and behind it. A road is pretty close to the house and is in between the field and my house, and there are neighbors in sight but not exactly close. When we were moving in, we stayed the night in the house, with no furniture and trash from the previous owners. I found a packet giving details of the house on the ground, naturally, I flipped through it, finding out information about my house. There was one thing I noticed that was a little surprising, the house was made in the year exactly 1900. Since I am naturally curious I did my research, and my county's city hall had burned down in the early 1900s and all of the records of the houses had been burnt and lost. Since this happened, most of the houses at that time had lost all previous records, including the year it was built. Basically, no-one knows the year my house was built in. Now, Since I have lived here there have been several paranormal events, and I honestly believe there will be more in the future. The first paranormal account I will be addressing is the first one that happened, It was a little after one AM and me, my dad, and my sister was sitting in front of my TV stand and telling stories, mostly my dad telling us about his childhood, we were laughing and having a good time. Then out of the corner of my eye, I saw something dash down my stairs which was in the corner of the next room, very visible, the figure then ran across the room and hid behind the longer part of the couch which wasn't against the wall. Naturally, I thought it was my uncle coming down my his room and trying to run down the stairs and hide behind the couch to scare us, so I jumped onto the couch and peered over, I was so sure he was there I said something along the lines of "come on I know it's you!" then I realized that nothing was there. I was creeped out but not enough to really be scared, I just said to my dad "I thought it was my uncle". After another hour of continuing to talk and play around, my sister went to bed and me and my dad sat on the couch and watched TV. My dad told me that he did, in fact, see something to but he didn't want to scare my sister, so he didn't say anything. My dad is the type of person to joke around so I brushed him off and said "stop messing with me" but he didn't stop and he genuinely seemed serious. To this day, he still doesn't deny it. The next "paranormal event" is in regard to my uncle, he has the biggest room in the house, upstairs. But his room is different, his walls are only a couple of feet tall then his ceiling starts slanting up, as if his room was in the attic or just higher up, like almost in the roof, he has two sunlights which are visible on the roof from the outside, confirming he is in the roof part of the house. Anyways, one night he was about to fall asleep when he heard a children's voice whisper some unrecognizable words from his bathroom. He turned on his TV and tried to sleep again but the same incident happened a few more times, he barely got any sleep that night. My uncle's room has a bathroom, which the door that went to it was only a few feet from his bed, on the northernmost wall. His bathroom has the same structure as his room, but on the short walls there are tiny doors that lead into the attic, in which we previously found very old creepy paintings and ex belongings to people from the early 1900s, we also found an old masonic book, with a torn-up old leather cover with a lion on it. The older masonic religion is questionable and very close to a cult. This was very creepy and could be some type of scene from a scary movie, I swear. On the back of the door leading into the attic in which we found the old belongings, there is a weird drawing that is obviously made from a small child, the drawing, however, is unrecognizable, you couldn't tell what it was. I and my uncle believe the voice he heard belonged to that child and that's who he heard. This happened weeks ago and nothing has happened to him since. The last and most recent "paranormal event" happened within the last two weeks, since the house is old my uncle has bought and installed smoke detectors, one of which was in the hallway upstairs, where my and my uncle's room connected to. One night, it was around six PM and the smoke detector went off, this was only weird because there was no smoke, at all. Although dinner was being made, there was no smoke, and even if there was the smoke detector in the kitchen and front room would have gone off way before the one across the house and upstairs. We brushed it off and waited for it to stop, but it didn't... my uncle literally had to unscrew it and take the batteries out to get it to stop, he said that they were some of the newest kinds of smoke detectors and that the batteries weren't the problem, so we figured it was some type of glitch or something. He put it back, and we continued on. Around another week later, it was very late at night, around three AM, I was in my room watching TV when all of the sudden the smoke detector went off, it scared me, and my uncle woke up and went into the hallway, again the alarm wouldn't stop until he literally had to unscrew it and take the batteries out, again, there was no source to the problem... the only conclusion I put to it is that it was some ghost or spirit trying to mess with us or whatever. My uncle ended up taking it off and putting it in his room and it hasn't gone off since... Those were all of the scary events so far, I know it's not confirming of anything but I do find it suspicious and I don't have a doubt that something does lurk here. Besides all of those stories, I occasionally feel as if I'm being watched. Anyways, thanks for reading my story, I will keep this updated if anything else happens............

I have to wonder if any of the churches in the woods will be in West Virginia 😂. Everything that exists here is in the woods/ mountains,lol..

I feel ripped off. I thought all these stories were gonna be about people's experiences with a creepy church in wooded areas. 😡

No, instead we got 7 stories we've heard at least 7 times before.

Though not technically "scary" i had finished up shopping for dinner at my usual grocery store tonight, and was sitting in my car having a smoke, listening to some good Black Metal quietly (ok so volume in my little corolla was at 39 😂😂) when i noticed a woman wearing a mask probably in her 70s at the passenger side of her car, parked two spaces over, she was making some weird jerky movements and kept looking over at me. Suddenly i noticed she was at my passenger side window, almost sticking her head in my window, just staring at me! 😂 It was a full minute of her just staring. I gave a smile, as she didnt say anything, and to be nice. Then she went back to her car, and i got outta there quick. 😂 The whole thing was rather bizarre. Hopefully it doesnt happen again, next time im at that store! Hahaha.
