Nobody likes to laugh and joke as much as I do. But we are still seeing women not being taken seriously in situations like this. Probably not a good comparison, but the Netflix film " American Nightmare " is a good example of women being IGNORED and more women being victimized because of it.

I disagree. Godinez should have been jailed for contempt and bond should have been revoked. He blatantly disobeyed his bond conditions in front of the judge and all the judge did was fuss at him a bit. How is that going to deter him from going right back to the victim and assaulting her again?

I love this judge. If she's truly upset, his words of outrage on her behalf will make her feel like someone's got her back. VERY important for victims. (As someone who recently went through something and got secondary trauma from apathetic law enforcement) Doesn't matter if she's acting. It's better to err on the safe side.

I disagree. The judge should have revoked Godinez’ bond. The manipulation was a blatant disregard of the court’s orders and I’m very concerned for the victim. I doubt that the fact that the judge fussed at Godinez will affect his behavior when he is no longer in front of the judge.
