I don't know how peanuts work on the plane, are they guaranteed you to give peanuts? Because marriage does not guarantee sex in any way, wife is not your property and is not obliged to sleep with you. On the other hand marriage is also not necessary for sex unless you fall in love with a religious fanatic.

In Australia, people often stop to check the pouch of road killed kangaroos , koalas, wombats , for pouch babies that may have survived and can be rescued . So if that was his reason, it's normal.

No man, come on. That’s not a red flag…maybe a yellow flag when paired with other behaviors. Plenty of people have interest in animals, and I stop to look at dead animals because I want to figure out what it is, also if I’d be able to preserve any of the bones. Also, if it’s an opossum or another marsupial in the spring/ summer you investigate because you want to check their pouch, to be able to save any surviving babies. Also, an animal could still be injured and alive, and might still survive if it is rescued. Shocker: I majored in zoology in college. Animals interest me. I’m not defending him, just the many many people who are good people, and are judged because they don’t adhere to societal norms

I think they just heard only part of the story, and the phrase"wanted to marry" also is misguiding totally untrue when you hear the other facts about how this guy was just pretending to be what he wasn't. Also they may have not heard it was 6 days! of torture and making her feel she was gonna die to get her to accept what she did not want to do. They may think it was just some minutes of play role and then be the hero that saves her from some kidnap...I think they hear something then fill the story with their imagination like it was just a guy that was so in love that made a crazy thing.

Going a bit out on a limb here, but its quite possible that Carolyn might have suspected something as "off" from the point of him being a hostage with her. Possibly it was her gut instinct, or the Holy Spirit letting her know that Julian is in fact the perp. She simply had to go along with this mans charade, being naked with him for days on end, and to hopefully get out of it alive.

@Gizziiusa I agree that is possible because he only changed his clothes...How could Carolyn not know it was her boyfriend?...I think at the point of being kidnapped, and stripped naked, she realized Julian was seriously unhinged and felt it was "safer" to play along with his ridiculous charade until she could somehow escape him!...Not easy, when one is naked, but not impossible!...I believe Carolyn would now be seriously traumatized by Julians actions, even more so at the tender age of 15!..Carolyn might even suffer from serious PTSD for years to come!...Further, how does anybody know for certain that Carolyn was not raped by Julian, all that time they were alone, and naked, in the bush?..She might be too afraid to tell!.. I also think Julian should of served double the prison time he did, like Dr Grande said...(15 years, minimum!..)

Can you analyze the case of Dylan Schumaker? He went viral and became an Internet sensation in 2013/2014 for breaking down crying in court, and it would be interesting for the case’s dynamics to be broken down in a video.

Maybe if Julian had tons of cash, marriage would’ve been inevitable and extremely soon, but it turns out he chose a risky lifestyle that unfortunately didn’t pay off.

OMG! I was JUST thinking about this case the other day! I remember when it happened and when the details came out it was all so bizarre. Julian was just a massive weirdo. Down that way (Gippsland) there are sadly many dead animals on the road so stopping to look at them is very unusual behaviour. I forgot about the whole fleeing to India part though. It is almost comical. I too suspect someone helped him obtain the fake passport. I'm surprised he was deported though. There's far worse crimes committed by people who aren't citizens that we don't deport, but that is a whole other issue. This was definitely a very serious crime though and must have been terrifying for Carolynne and I sure she is still affected by it to this day.

To force a modest young lady to run around the woods with him naked, and still like his company is beyond comprehension. Absolutely self absorbed and void of compassion. Im glad she survived the ordeal. I agree the sentence is too short.
