Okay, so, as someone who knows what this stuff is, I have some useless infos. That death report with the red face is based on the MARIO creepypasta, the report is shown in the romhack from the story after beating the first castle and the image is what happens when you mess with the txt file that comes with the romhack. Luigikid is indeed a KZbinr whose specialty is these types of games. He's got one of the most cancerous fanbases I've ever seen. They practically worship him as a god. Back when I was really cringey and watched it myself, I even made him a really bad rpgmaker fangame. It's not public anywhere, and I intend to keep it that way. The piano music iirc is the music from the Suicide Mouse video. The reason the battle mechanics seem so tacked-on is because they ARE. This is a remake of the original RPGMaker VX Ace version with the combat system from MV added arbitrarily. Honestly, until this video, I had no idea this existed. I actually offered to fix the grammar in this game years back, but the guy never got back to me. Honestly, Lucas Boato is a cool dude, iirc There was a sequel to the original version called SCP Force, though I haven't seen much of it. It seems to be more of the same. I'm pretty sure the ghost's dialogue is a reference to Buried Alive Despite the shitty screamers, this really seems to be a kind of campy tribute to creepypastas. (Though it doesn't excuse how trash it is) Apparently the original version had a bug where you could find Ben in his room even if he's in your party. Funnily enough, the developer made the excuse of "What if it's a part of the creepypasta?" Incase anyone is wondering, no, the original doesn't look better. They both use these default assets lazily mixed with custom ones. Also, Sally seems to change sprites halfway through into literally a default RPGMaker character. (Not even made with the character generator) The picture from "This computer has an .exe game running" in the last area is Sally.exe, which, no, is not very good. The good ending, from what I remember, isn't much better. Also, WHY DO I KNOW ALL THIS

You know, amidst all the badly-written nonsense, pointless namedrops because LOL TEH REFERENCE, and jumpscare spam, there was one thing I liked about this game: the concept of these two normal kids, Ben and Sally, being (I guess) alternate-universe versions of these monsters and destined to become them, and how they struggle to maintain their friendship in spite of it. That could have been a really compelling story all on its own; it's like Maribel Hearn from Touhou and how she's destined to become Yukari.

This was no joke. This was a situation of someone desperate for praise and attention, most likely among the creepypasta community, of which they were likely a lurker. You can normally tell these people right off the bat when you come across a fan game made entirely out of in-references. If it's any consolation, the gameplay was just as hard to watch as it must have been for you to play it. I ended up putting the video in the background while I did other things and it worked as some sort of audio commentary of you on all its craziness. Definitely easier to get to the end like that. Keep up the good content, mate. All this RPG Maker stuff is priceless and I want to check out some of the other games you have played, as they offered some interesting concepts and ideas.

What annoys me most about stuff like this is that his friends and family, and everybody he ever showed it to thought it was the coolest shit ever. Plus about 20 other edgy teens online reviewed it with 5 stars and said "please make creepypastaland 2" because they pissed their pants and had their first orgasms from seeing references to stuff they grew up on, like they invented references. I get that kids are easily impressed, and I can't fault them for that, but the sad truth is that these 'devs' actually think they're any sort of good at it. Imagine putting in a fighting system where you are apparently forced to fight RATS until you've leveled up enough to be able to fight the enemies in the game. I did actually kinda liked the bad ending because you're just stuck with it when you don't expect it, but that's mostly down to bad game programming rather than a conscious decision. There's some much stuff about the game that just doesnt make sense. Aside from the "I'm right here, but come to my house tomorrow, I'll explain everything then, instead of right now" The dude made such a song and dance about giving his phone-number but never is it used. Not even in a cutscene. Though, JUST maybe, it's some sort of spell/summon in the fighting part? That would actually be kinda neat. Regarding the "sorry for my bad english", first of all, that pisses me off, just the apology itself. The english was just about as good as any native teen would have written. Except for the few bit of brazilian he forgot to translate? I can forgive the grammar mistakes, but the spelling annoys me. We've all got spellcheckers, just dump your texts into Word or something before finalizing. If you're not good at something yet, like game programming, story writing, that's natural, but half-assing it, I can't really stand. Do some beta testing, or let others do it. Don't just mash compile and upload after you've written the last bit of game. Well.. that was a bit of a rant... Like I said, you can't expect too much from a kid. Writing an angry e-mail isn't going to do a damn thing, he might be 18 or 20 by now and probably go: "dude, I was a kid, wtf is wrong with you". Hopefully he'll have learned enough by now to either make some decent games, or do something he IS good at.

Honestly, it’s not THAT bad. Don’t get me wrong, this game is cringy as hell. But admittedly a game about a bunch of creepy pasta characters coming to kill is not a bad idea. And in a few years I can imagine a game like this could be nostalgic in the same way something like scp containment breach was, with all the references to an old internet era that seems to live in infamy at this point. But, where the concept is ok, the execution is GOD AWFUL. Ignoring the fact that half the enemies AREN’T EVEN CREEPY PASTAS, (hell there is even a sequel to the game involving scps which are obviously not creepy pastas) but it is just so dated and not scary at aaaaaaaalllllllllllll. In the end, if there were a better game with the same concept, rpg maker should be the platform it’s made on considering that rpg maker has the same infamous yet nostalgic feel that creepy pastas do. (but the fights are SERIOUSLY out of place and really shouldn’t be in the game) TLDR: Good concept, dogshit execution 3/10
