I’m excited to make this for my mother as it’s her favorite! I don’t have a torch however. Can I throw them under the broiler for a little bit??
@mysteryman52135 ай бұрын
I'm a total newbie when it comes to cooking so forgive me if this seems like the stupid question of the day. Am I correct when I say, the last step (the one before enjoying the creation) where we add the sugar & caramelize it, is done right before serving? Or, is it fine to do this step immediately and store the dish in the fridge for a few days? TIA
@ronnie58684 ай бұрын
I was wondering the same thing. Can it be done a few hours at least so you're not messing with it while your guests are watching?
@mysteryman52134 ай бұрын
@@ronnie5868 I experimented this ronnie and found the caramelized topping softened after storing in the fridge for approx 24 hrs. Serving asap after caramelizing (after the topping has cooled & hardened) is what I recommend. Hope this helps.
@susanwagoner4910Ай бұрын
@mysteryman5213 I don't have a torch, so the only way I can see to carmelizing them would be under the broiler. Any idea how long that would take? And, about how long they would take to cool and Harden? Would doing it this way just ruin the SET of the custard?
@susanwagoner4910Ай бұрын
@@mysteryman5213so sorry for all the questions! So far you seem to be the only person kind enough to answer anyone's question! Thank you SO much in advance!!!

Hi, you cannot use full eggs for this recipe. It will change the flavor and texture.
@mayphan28729 ай бұрын
You can get egg separated so easy to use and you can get from any home goods store. Good luck .
@mehjabeenjable3632 Жыл бұрын
Ok is it possible to substitute the egg then?
@SimplyHomeCooked Жыл бұрын
Unfortunatey you cannot use any substitute for the egg in this recipe.
