Place Using Interface greyed out? After clicking the Assemble command and selecting a component, the Place Using Interface is greyed out. I'm using Windchill and Creo 7.0 Any ideas?

I was just reading about this and ended up here. I got this from my help search The autoplace_single_comp configuration option must be set to yes to enable automatic drag-and-drop placement of components. And there might be other settings that need tweaking as well. And you need interfaces in both the assembly and the component perhaps?

Can this be done with sub assemblies?

Well, it can be done with assemblies. A subassembly is just an assembly inside of another assembly. There’s a reason they call it “Component Interfaces” and not “Part Interfaces.”

@@CADPLMGuy for some reason its not possible to have these neat point for picking and placing in the context of assemblies as you have it in the example, I cant understand what i am doing wrong. Also, it would be so great, if you could explain and expand on how to use criterias for component interfaces. Thanks!
