I didn't know that laying cables could be so simple and beautiful.

Really I need to appreciate you for making this video, your knowledge about cabling too good. Kindly suggest me, how to improve knowledge regarding cabling, schematic and diagram

How do we calculate the mass of the cable and their CG for overall mass property and CG caldculation? Both CG position and mass are critical to us.
@CADPLMGuy6 ай бұрын
I think I touch on this in my video on Cable Spools. If you specify the spool's linear density (note that linear density is the mass or weight per unit length, not unit volume like regular density), you should be able to calculate mass properties as usual. It's been a few years since I've done cabling and made this video, so I recommend testing this to be sure and reaching out to PTC Tech Support as necessary.

When routing a network manually do I need to route to each individual connector or is having the network close by sufficient?
@jenniferrafiner9333 жыл бұрын
Also thank you so much for your video series!!!
@CADPLMGuy3 жыл бұрын
You do NOT want to route the network into each individual connector. That causes problems with generating short segments that cause little loops or minimum bend radius issues. You just want to have Network Locations where wires and cables and jump into and out of the network.
@jenniferrafiner9333 жыл бұрын
@@CADPLMGuy ok that would explain my min bend radius issues I have been having.
@CADPLMGuy3 жыл бұрын
My networks always start on the "floor" or panel surface. Later if I want to make the wires pretty and go straighter into the connector, I add a Location to the cable (not the network), usually on an axis coming out of the connector.

Do you have explained somewhere in your videos how to use correctly the concept of sub connectors ? Or maybe you can guide me to a document explaining this in detail ? It look I managed to make it work visually but impossible to extract the logical connection in the repeat table correctly.

I investigated subconnectors once for a work issue. The functionality seemed wonky. I have not revisited it since.

Why can't SolidWorks do this? Routing is atrocious in SolidWorks.

If the FREE content that I have created on my own time isn't good enough for you, I'm not forcing you to watch my videos. Perhaps another channel will be more to your liking. Alternatively, you can pay thousands of dollars for formal training from PTC or other training vendors.
