I would argue such pairings are not 100% fatal. While the fatal form exists when you pair two Lilly whites, fatal forms are not the only result. You get a mix of non-visuals or normals, visuals, and super forms( fatal ). I find it hard to believe that everyone who has tried doesn’t talk about the animals that are actually viable.

I have a gecko from that pairing and she suffers from a permanent neurological disorder. Good breeders don’t breed that pairing for a reason.

Great video! Why are some lillys bright neon yellow instead of white in their markings and dorsal?

Thank you. There are always other genes at play even with lilly whites. Xanthophore production from another gene(s) like Hypo/Lavender elevating the neon yellow appearance could be there. There might be yellow pinstriping in some. There are also some very orange lilly whites, check out Sacred Geckos Exotics on IG, that are being produced. We don't know yet the cause for the variation on their lateral and dorsal lines but we would love to know what other breeders have proven for their Lilly projects.

Until this video apparently shown one at the 2:24 mark, I had never seen dal spots on a Lilly White. Have any of you guys experimented with breeding a Dalmatian to a Lilly White ? With the Lilly White gene being incomplete dominant, how does it consistently overwhelm/eliminate Dalmatian spots (in my limited experience anyways) which I believe are a co-dominant gene ? And if a Lilly White is bred to a "super" Dalmatian...i.e...a Dalmatian with 2 alleles making it the homozygous dominant form of the gene....wouldn't we end up with some of the offspring being Super Dals (an animal with two alleles) and some of the animals having one allele from the Lilly and one from the Super Dal making it a Lilly White with dal spots ? We would never have a Super Dalmatian/Lilly White, and if we did wouldn't that mean the Lilly White gene was recessive ????

If lilly white inhibits pigment from producing it will inhibit dalmatian spots in the white areas as well. Like in rabbits, the albino gene stops all pigment in the cells, but genetically the rabbit is still black, blue, spotted or whatever, it just doesn't show. When breeding an albino rabbit to another color, you get to see what color the albino is or isnt genetically from what it throws in the litter.

Even if we would never have a super dalmatian lilly white, it won't change that lilly white is incomplete dominant. You can have more than one dominant gene on the same animal. They are on different loci (locations on the gene).

@@Irmelinis the spots do actually show. I myself have a Lillywhite with ink spots and red on her. One of her babies here has lots of spots already, ink ones and again red at only a couple months old. I also have a red phantom with only red spots. The white doesn’t actually hide the spots at all like a lot think. And Infact a lot of breeders are actually now pairing super dals to lillies.

with head structure I prefer sharper smaller crests with pointy heads. the super fat heads with the droopy crests looks stupid to me
