Having my reply liked brought me back to this comments section. I'm thinking seriously about the GPX 450 or the Kove 450 rally now. I think I would appreciate the extra power on the street over the CRF 300r. The problems I've seen so far with the GPX 450 seem fairly easy to work around with cheap upgrades, like swapping out the handlebar bolts with grade 8 before they break. Honestly I like the path the Chinese are taking with more reliable, more square bore to stroke ratios. I don't need an ultra light, hot running, high rpm, race motor. Long service intervals and reliability are worth a few extra kilograms to me.
@MrArlenBrazill Жыл бұрын
@@justinsavs kzbin.info/www/bejne/famch32hjdeSnZI I guess I forgot to tag you in my other replies. The more I research the Zongshen engines, the more I realize they align with my reliability oriented design philosophy. Stainless valves instead of weight saving, brittle, race oriented valves that other manufacturers are using. Also, more square bore-stroke ratios that don't rev as high, so they don't produce as much HP per cc, but have better reliability, for various reasons (sidewall loading, heat dissipation, complete fuel combustion, etc. It's worth rewarding manufactures that make what we are looking for, regardless of the political system they design under.

I turned 50yrs old this summer. The past few years, I've been running around on a TW200. Back in the day, I rode a 2-stroke Kawasaki. I finally decided I wanted more than the TW200 had to offer just before my birthday in August. I purchased the CRF 300L after watching countless KZbin videos. Within about 3 months, I've put 1,500 miles on this 300L (stock). The entire time, I kept thinking this bike has more to offer. Recently, I put a Dunlop 606 (rear) and Pirelli MT16 (front) and added a 45 tooth rear sprocket. YOUR video encouraged me to pull the trigger on this KTech suspension. I did the same setup! WOW... just wow! Thank you for doing this video! I now have a Yoshimura full exhaust (w ESU) sitting in box waiting for an install next week. I might not be able to keep riding like this forever... but you definitely bought me some extra time! This upgrade is great. Again, thank you!

Finally i am seeing what I have anted to see... a person who knows how to ride in the dirt!! I live in San Diego and raced MX at a fast intermediate level on the great old tracks of the past such as Carlsbad and Saddleback. Because of past injuries I have been off of two wheels for a number of years, but I really have wanted to get a dual sport but don't want or need a $12K super dual sport. I have been on the fence over the 300L until I found your videos. Other channels dealing with the 300L are far more street oriented and have in fact left me a bit cold about the 300L until now. Seeing you ride it has answered my questions and yes, it can handle being pushed a little bit on the dirt. Even more so with the suspension upgrades. I am now going to purchase a 300L soon. Thank you so much for the great content!!!!

That'd the annoying thing you'll find on ALL the videos critical about the bike. They all talk about "oh the top speed is 75mph" or "the seat is hard and it hurt on my 400 mile ride" and "I can't overtake in the fast lane" One guy even sold his because the grand total of dirt riding he did was a gravel road here and there.

Dude you nailed it so many riders missed the point of 'Predictability' and 'Consistency' pertains to not only the machine but riding as well. Reducing or removing as many variables as possible. Everything we do is variable dependent, the more variables the less consistency and predictability. 👍 I would love to get a hold of the CFL 300 myself, hopefully in a couple of years I'll be able to pick one up. In the meantime enjoy the hell out of that bike!
@diggy-d8w5 ай бұрын
YES, compressing the front shocks & turning does shorten the bikes overall length making it corner more aggressively but part of that dynamic is also the weight exerted downward forcing the tire to flatten somewhat & the tire presses into the earth. Both of these things are part of this dynamic. BTW, I had never thought about until you mentioned it - understanding what your bike does makes you a better overall rider. I digg your enthusiasm ~ peace

I sold my 2012 KTM 350 EXC-F a couple years ago. I have been smashing trails on my KTM 890 since. While it is an amazing machine it’s a heavy beast when you are following friends on small bikes. I picked up a used 300 Rally with only 54 miles on it. The 550 ECU and Yoshi pipe had me wheelie in 2nd and 3rd gear to pass my test of keeping it and spending the $ on suspension upgrades. The Ktech front springs and revalve along with there rear are justified.
