CRG Hot Pipe & Throttle Body Pipe Install | NP300 Navara Build

Finally getting around to installing the CRG hot pipe and throttle pipe to the np300. This was more future proofing the Navara as mine were still in good condition but I'm sure it was a matter of time before the seals went on them.
If you use this to assist during your install, remember I have a series 4 so some things may be slightly different on other series but concept is still the same.

I fitted the CRG Hot Pipe on my D23 this afternoon. One thing I noticed with original pipe… as soon as I removed the two mounting bolts the pipe was amazingly loose on the turbo, considering it’s an o ringed push fit. The CRG pipe with the dual o rings definitively takes some push to get seated on the turbo and even the front end, connection requires more force to get connected and the clip seated. However, even before I put the mounting bolt back in the CRG pipe is a far more stable fit on the turbo. I also fitted an All Terrain Industries ribbed silicone duct between the air filter box and turbo inlet. I took it for a drive on a regular run up the mountain and I’m stunned. I clearly had a boost leak, maybe at both ends of the hot pipe because it’s really noticeably stronger up hill and even sounds subtly different. I’ll do the CRG Throttle Pipe next and then a tune and maybe an intercooler upgrade early in the new year.

Hmmm i'm not 100% sure sorry. I dont think we got the 2.5 in australia. Mine had the 2.3.

I’m struggling to find out why they leak oil from the hot pipe. Does the oil leak from the turbos or is it just crank case ventilation build up?

Just an ineffective seal. The CRG pipe was so much tighter.

Hey @wanglowes1618 it will only affect a warranty claim if those parts are found to be the cause of an issue.

I changed my hot pipe and found no difference at all except now it's noisy. waste of money if you ask me.

Hmmm not sure where you got the idea that it would make a "difference" (I assume you mean power?). The difference it makes is reliability with the better seals. If you want power you need to go get a tune done, its on my list of things to do this year.

@@GetThatBread . what i am saying is that you could have just replaced the O'rings (If they were leaking) and saved a heap of money. replacing the whole pipe is a waste of money. depending on klm you could have had Nissan replace for free under warranty.

That's true, I guess it depends on what people have planned for their Navaras at the end of the day, its a pointless mod if thats someones situation and they are happy with the stock one. I changed mine as I know I will get a tune at some point and wanted the better seals and to try avoid a leak in the future.

@@kanenaysmith9287 you can't buy the seals separately to my understanding, you have to buy the entire hot pipe from Nissan, which is quite expensive. There's no aftermarket option and it is a proprietary seal. Obviously if you can claim a new one under warranty, do so as you should get another 5 or 6 years out of it before it fails.
