Cribb "Horizontal Witness” Full Episode 1980 HD

Alan Dobie stars in this highly acclaimed classic series written by award winning crime writer Peter Lovesey. Known for his wry sense of humour, Cribb is the backbone of Scotland Yard´s newly formed Criminal Investigation Department aided and sometimes hindered, by the faithful Constable Thackeray.

Joe Calhoun, a key player in London's vice world, is found dead in one of his own brothels. Unreliable witness Charlie Vokins, who had a score to settle with him, claims to know the murderer but wants to make a deal with the police. As well as the deceased's brother the other major suspect is Dr. Hepplewhite who owed gaming debts to the dead man. Const. Thackeray is due to have an operation and Sgt. Cribb arranges for him to be admitted to the same hospital where Charlie Vokins was taken to recuperate from a severe beating. Dr. Hepplewhite therefore becomes the surgeon due to operate on Const. Thackeray and Cribb is anxious to keep his constable safe - particularly as he is a bad patient, constantly exasperating the Matron, Sister Armstrong who is secretly in love with the surgeon.

I am 78 years old and have never come across this series, they are little master pieces I have not seen the Victorian period recreated so exactly, you would think it was filmed at the time, splendid!

William Simons is so good in this kind of role, he was one of My favourite characters in the BBC ‘Heartbeat’ - where he was again in the role of a Policeman, with loads of personality. Thank-You for this!!

LOVE this series. I've seen the entire playlist 3 times, and currently enjoying the 4th. I have to say, all throughout the run, the reality that there is no such thing as 'FAIR' in this world. It's the idiots who have all the money and power these days, it's the one who spends his lifetime lending what help he may to others with nothing asked in return who can't buy a friend when he needs one, to wit: No good deed goes unpunished, and the guy who solves the mystery has to stand by and see someone else get the credit. Sad but true.

I worked at St. Marks Hospital in Islington central London , it was in City Rd .It is a colorectal Hospital . It opened in 1834 . I worked in the operating theatres. It moved to NW London in the early 90's .
