Shaw's a great Test & ODI batsman, the issue is with his fielding and he's not a consistent T20 batsman. The reason he's not looked at for the other formats is because there is a lot of competition at the top order. There are 6-7 opening batsmen in contention apart from Prithvi Shaw including Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shubhman Gill, Abhishek Sharma, Sai Sudarshan, Devdutt Paddikal. His fielding skills is a huge issue because of which he's excluded.

Well he couldn't get past his weakness of playing inswinger since BGT against Australia thats why he was left off plus his fitness is crap , Ricky ponting tried to improve his game when he was Delhi daredevil coach in ipl but he just didn't mend his ways and now ponting one of his well-wisher has also left the coaching job at DD in IPL. He is finished in indian cricket now , Thats why he is playing in County cricket these days. Its not easy for a batter to get into the Indian team. You need 2 skill sets now and that is why you see Abhishek Sharma, Yashashwi and others trying a hand at bowling. Prithvi Shaw is too flashy and soon international bowlers sorted him out. Plus his off the field issues have hurt his image. But the worst is his fitness. He can continue domestic, county and pile up runs. Even IPL is not going to be easy considering the new talent coming in.
