It was also while the ashes were still on the line and it was a personal triumph for gilly against the attack, mainly flintoff, who had tormented him to despair 18 months earlier to the point of him seriously considering quitting the game. He was still feeling down about it all when he woke up in the morning on this day of destiny, day 3 of the 3rd test in perth 2006-07. It should have made the cut.

The other one that was ridiculous not to be included was Steve Waugh's career saving century against England in sydney of january 2003. Also Michael Vaughn's batting in that same series when he emerged as the first truly world class English batsman to take it to Australia for more than a decade.

@@js11052 that's absolutely right! And Warner had also just scored a brilliant 253 against a somewhat out of sorts NZ attack, for Australia to impose first innings scoreboard pressure of 559 with NZ having to bat against a very strong Australian attack. And yes it was the record by any overseas played ever against Australia in Australia. It's frankly ridiculous that it's not there and near the top at that. Simply because he's from New Zealand would be my bet. He's one of many very underrated players they've had over the years even though they have often struggled to put a whole world class team on the park in test cricket. Also look at Taylor's career stats across forms today and frankly he is a great allround player, and really does deserve all the credit he gets and probably a good bit more.

Even better, they have the audacity to include Warner's hundred in 2011, a forgettable hundred in a match they LOST. Tells you all you need to know about the laughable parochialism in Australian cricket.

@@8thofthe8th bruh Warner's innings was a great one even though I agree with you on mom. But that innings was way better way cause it came in 4th innings when absolutely no one scored runs, he fought alone, it was a one man show in 4th, what's special about Taylor's innings? Highest score by a visiting batsman, yes, I give it to him but it came in flattest of the conditions with everyone scoring runs. That being said, there are many hundreds which doesn't even deserve to be on the list, like kohli's Adelaide 100 in 1st innings didn't deserve to be there, his 2nd innings one or his Perth hundreds would be better

@@anweshpradhan1842 "One of the worst bowling attacks ever set by India in overseas test match", that bowling attack had Zaheer Khan, Ashwin, Ishant, Umesh. This is better than most of the attacks India ever took to Australia, better than any before 2000, heck better than what we took in 2014-15. 3 of the later played for India for nearly a decade from then on, many overseas as well. That bowling attack reduced australia to 37-3 when Clarke came in & scored 329*. That was also far from a great batting pitch as a powerful Indian batting line-up consisting to likes of Sehwag, Sachin, Dravid, Laxman, Kohli etc was allout for 191 to probably the worst australian pace line-up(Pattinson, Hilfenhaus, Siddle) of last 25 yr.

Always a difficult task to do a top 20 in last 20 years ! 1. They needed to exclude Australian players and just make it top20 100s by non Australian players for simplicity. 2. Some 100s dis not make much sense. They looked just statical in nature. Eg: ponting 257 was included then why omit his 242 which he scored just in the previous match against India? 3. They should also provide some context which would make the viewers appreciate it further.

@@rishabh4539 that may or may not be the case but you can only bat against what's in front of you. Plus his strokeplay was outstanding and a triple is a triple, it's an amazing display of batsmanship no matter who it's against hence Lara's 400 and Hayden's 375

@@carncats07 don't appreciate the attitude bro. Believe it or not, working for the NHS means a lot more is on my mind currently than cricket statistics and to be only five off given how long ago it happened seems forgivable plus it doesn't diminish the point. Maybe once I've got some time off, we can debate with accurate stats but maybe you should let it go buddy.

Instead of Kohli's 115, they should have added his 116 vs Australia which was his maiden test hundred. He walked into bat when india had lost Gambhir, Sehwag, Dravid, Sachin and Laxman under 100 runs and then scored a hundred. That was India's only hundred in the series.

Almost quarter of the centuries are from Indian tour of 2003. And a case could be made for so many other centuries from the same series. Forget every century! Every ball, every run and every wicket was of high importance. Those who say 2005 ashes was the best, most forget that Australia was already declining by then which made it easier for England to compete. Besides, has England not won the series, most wouldn't even talk about it. Hype was only because the other team was the winner. Just underscores the magnitude of that test series and the fact that Ind vs Australia had become THE contest in cricket. The players understood it. Media didn't want to acknowledge it (English)
