I just received mine for Christmas, from my Daughter & Husband, but needed help to get this baby started. I loved your tutorial, for newbies to Cricut. Especially, for my Explorer Air 2. i absolutely hate the computer but my hubby bought me this beautiful machine and im desperate to get the know on how to use it, he bought it for me last christmas and this year i told him that i needed a comouter to really get the use out of it and he buys me a computer. OMG! I just got my Cricut Explore Air 2. I was gung ho and hyped up at the purchase but OMG when I got the box and all those items I was frozen. :) Then I found you. This was excellent! You were very very patient and the pace was on par. I do still have questions regarding if I will need an ink cartridge. This was so helpful but my test cut didn't actually cut anything..my c button wasn't blinking after I loaded my mat with cardstock. I was so scared for a minute but then I exit the setup & open a blank canvas to test cut a basic heart. It worked! I was so thrilled ! Now I can craft away after having my machine in the box for 3 months 😊😊😊

I've received my Explore Air 2 for Christmas and have only now just been able to set things up (with your help!) I chose the crown design as my first test cut and it didn't come out quite as clean as the sunflower. Its as if the blade didn't cut through all the way, so I had a difficult time popping the pieces out - both the crown itself and all the tiny pieces. It all popped out in ragged edges and even peeled off the first layer of the back side of the cardstock, if that makes sense. Any advice? I'll keep plowing through and hopefully I'll get better at this!

You sure can as long as it is not made with Borosilicate. Dishes made of Borosilicate WILL NOT WORK. Dishes from Ikea and some other brands of dishes may be made of borosilicate glass, therefore, they will not work. Borosilicate glass is a tougher type of glass. If you see a note that your dish is very scratch and impact resistant to withstand rapid temperature changes, it’s possible it may not work to etch correctly. Please check the etching cream manufacturer’s website for more information.

I got the cricut explore air 2 for christmas and your video was very helpful. My laptop uses Microsoft would the setup be the same as for Windows? I went into my app store to download cricut design space and it had a charge of 9.98 so I didn't download the app. When I go into design space I have no images to choose from. This has me so confused, I see others on KZbin going to design space and look for what they want to cut out, but I get nothing.👌

My calibration page stuck to my mat and is tearing as I'm trying to peel it off. How can I remove the paper without ruining my mat

Turn the mat upside down to peel it off. You can use a scraper or rewards card to help lift it off.

Thanks for the tutorial. I have a question. I want to use Bluetooth on my computer but it is not recognizing my Cricut Explore Air and the Cricut is on. I also have a new Windows computer. Please help.

Make sure the Cricut is turned on. I have made this mistake myself to realize that I didn't have it turned on. 😁 I always recommend to use the USB connector. It is much more stable than bluetooth, especially for bigger projects.

I had to bring my computer nearby and turn cricut off then on again and then Bluetooth found it

I do not use my cricut very much its just for personal use and you said that the app is free, I think I pay 9.99 a month for the use of this app, can you tell me what I’m doing wrong and is it 9.99 a month for everyone. Thank you for all your knowledge and sharing.

The Cricut app is free. Cricut Access (which gives you thousands of images) is not free and has a monthly fee. But to cut and make things, the actual Cricut app is free.
