🎁 Cricut Maker Unboxing
The Cricut Maker is the latest cutting machine from Cricut.The Maker has more pressure and more accessories to do… well… more! The Cricut Explore family of machines handled paper, cardstock, and vinyl like a pro. The Maker can do all that with as much skill but it also has the included Rotary Blade, unique to the Maker, for a better experience with fabric and leather. Coming in the future is the Knife Blade for working with even thicker materials up to 2.4 mm (3/32”) thick.
The Maker is a solid and well-built machine. Along with the technical side, there are a few nice little additions too.
• A utility slot to prop up a tablet or phone while you work.
• Along with an extra USB port on the side to power a charging cable for that extra device.
• An expanded storage tray in the door.
• A two part cup with one section being deeper for longer tool and the other half a shallower portion for shorter tools.

I have not been using my Cricut for anything much more than paper cutting. I don't sew. I don't think I need a Maker. Do you think the Maker will replace the Explore or will the Explore continue to be offered?

The Knife? Yes it will. It only comes with the Normal Blade and Rotary Blade.

This comes with a Fine-Point Blade and Housing, the new name for the regular Explore Blade Housing / German Carbide Blade, and the new Rotary Blade exclusive to the Maker.

To use the rotary blade you need the new gear system and more pressure offered by the Maker. The explore can't do what the Maker can do.

Not sure as we have not seen the Knife Blade yet and it has been delayed. I would hope that it would but without having the blade to do the work and only relying on the regular blades, we can not recommend getting it for that purpose yet.

Thanks Craft by two... can I ask do they have a place you can zinc new cartridges... I'm getting the new CTMH cartridge so I was wondering.

They do not on this machine. Only on the explore machines. We heard there will be a separate device you can buy to link your cartridges with. We haven't seen it and have no idea how it works yet.

Wow, that does not seem fair at all, to make you buy something else to link cartridges you own. mine are already in but if i picked up some for a bargain or someone new to the newer machines would have to buy something? I think I'll pass and stick with the explore Air 2. Hope they keep making them.
