After being ghosted by people who said they would work with me on printing my images so that I could sublimate them. I was concerned about the expense of buying a sublimation printer. After watching Jennifer's videos about the various printers, I decided to just go for it. I bought the Brother SP-1. Then I watched this video on using the cricut mug press that was gifted to me a few years ago. I just printed and pressed my first mug. Oh my gosh!!! No more waiting to see if the image was too dark or fuzzy. My first mug came out awesome. Thank you Jennifer for being so clear on your directions and recommendations. You rock!!

As with all things, Jessica, the mug press is not meant for everyone! I don't work for Cricut, so don't know for sure, but assume it's target audience may be people who either don't have room for a large heat press, or just don't want to mess around with one! To each their own! 🥰

Jennifer I love your tutorials and projects that you teach! It helped me learn so of what person needs to know to Cricut! I have many cricut machines now and need to update myself on the new design space features. I hav3 a problem though and that is with my Mug press, I bought a couple of years ago and mostly. Use it for Christmas and birthday presents. I was already to get started on this years mugs doing sublimations and I find that I can’t for the life of me get the press to heat up so I can heat my mugs. It just flashes orange no matter how I turn it on. Have you got any ideas please!

Oh it’s amazing. I would have to start all over again. To even enjoy this item. I say this because three years ago I gave my large cricket away to my youngest daughters school / teacher. Because of my illness I want well enough to use mine anymore. This teacher was cutting out everything by hand. I felt it in my best to give it to her. I had over 25 carriages and all this stuff with my cricket but I wasn’t using it. I’m sad that I did give it away but I know I did the best thing. This teacher cried when we gave it to her and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Who knows god works in amazing ways maybe I’ll be able to start all over one day. Ali I’m still vary sick and am bedridden now. So if you ever have any thing that can go help a teacher please think of them they do so much for our kids god bless you all

When I am designing my mug using the blank template, my Cricut makes me resize it to 9.25 and I noticed that yours is still 10 something. How can I change it in the program to let me create the mug the same size as yours? 2. If I am not using the Infusible ink sheets and just using sublimation paper, do I have to wrap it with 3 layers of butcher paper or no extra paper to press? Thank you in advance!

I would still wrap it with extra paper to be safe. My small mug wrap is 10.311" x 3.79" and the large is 10.744" x 4.254". Make sure it is loaded as a cut image not print then cut. That's what it sounds like when you said 9.25.

I made my first mug (your heart design 15 oz) and not sure it came out right. I am happy with it though. The mug is beveled (cricut mug) on bottom so couldn't cover that part so used the top rim as my line.

However, it's always a good idea to use any heat-based crafting tool in a well-ventilated area to ensure safety and comfort. You need a computer to register the mug press, after that you do not need anything to operate it.
