When they said Ian Grant was a body builder and doorman, it all became clear. That whole scene back then was almost synonymous with gangland crime.

Yep. This crime made me think of the whole story around the Essex boys and their lot. This is a crime that will not be solved I'm afraid. Most of those guys are in their 60s now, won't grass and won't show any remorse for what they did. That world is full of drug dealing and violence.

The worst murder ever reconstructed on Crimewatch UK IMHO. The irony was Alan worked for the police as a garage attendant. So horrible I can barely watch. I'm so glad his sister got to be by his side before he succumbed. The murderer's DNA would surly be on the cloth or whatever was used to bind him. If the murderer is still out there I hope he will be caught!

This has to be one of, if not the worst I've ever seen on this show. So inhumane, the person responsible is beyond evil. The fact he hasn't been found makes me sick.

There is just a data base kept by her majesty's prisoners...that's the only info and the same as stated here. She was a thief...people don't like thieves and pick pockets. Not that she deserved to be murdered...But who did she steal from? I imagine that she didn't come by the money to buy back most of her jewelry honestly...maybe the person she stole from found out? Even worse, maybe she stole from someone's elderly relative?

Danny Marlow was killed because he lost a snooker game and failed to settle a wager on it. He had played the owner of a local club a few years prior and waged £40 on the game. He lost, and refused to pay up. The snooker club owner was so irate that he hired another man to commit the murder by running Danny down. The burning Ford Granada found later that evening was the car used. I think the two involved were found guilty and jailed a few years later. The police knew of this debt pretty quickly - the inspector interviewed after the reconstruction mentioned 'several debts, but none of a significant nature'. He was right in one way, I suppose - to have someone murdered over something as minor as a £40 bet is unbelievable.

Debbie woods killer is likely to be John Taylor who lived 12 minutes away .
@SoberingThoughts
@SoberingThoughts 9 ай бұрын
Very likely, yes. A documentary a couple of years ago also established that witnesses believed Taylor frequented Big Lil’s. The gap between the murder and the body being found (so body was kept for a time being before being dumped), like Leanne Tiernan, also points to Taylor. I wish the police would wrap these older cases up properly.

Alan Holmes' death reminds me of the sloth victim in the film Severn with Kevin Spacey. He too was strapped to his bed and left to rot, with the police similarly breaking down doors to access his apartment. What a horrible way to go.

@ikkelimburg3552 we know that Black people face very particular problems due to white supremacist ideology, white people created that ideology, therefore yt people telling Black people who r worried about the dangers of being a Black person in a racist world & the very particular issues that come with that r being not just entirely disingenuous but also showing racist tendencies. Maybe do some reflection 😔
