If more checks were done at all ports in the uk, ie ferry and containers checked then vehicle crime ie thief’s would drop. Use x-ray machines on every container. This has been going on since the 1960’s. Yet the ports are still not being held accountable for letting vehicles go through them. The insurance companies and police are doing nothing about this major issue. Instead the insurance companies just put up everyone’s policy year on year. In other countries like Germany an industrial unit area all businesses within them are known and registered with the local authorities ie councils and police. This cuts down having illegal activities and businesses. So if this was to be put in place in the uk, it would cut down on the places in which a stolen vehicle could be put to change its identity. Again this will not be put in place as it’s to easy, and the authorities are not interested in stopping or cutting down vehicle theft. There are a number of systems in which a code has to be inputted, pressing a set of buttons in order for the vehicle to start. But a simple dead switch could do the same thing. So once the vehicle is turned off, you need to use the switch to start it. Plus if the punishment was higher for vehicle theft then criminals would think twice about stealing a vehicle. But in the uk we are weak on punishment or sentencing when it comes to crime, so the crimes keep happening. An yet again the police are behind the times, this needs to be a national police unit, which covers the whole uk. They need to tell and force the ports to check all ferries and containers leaving the uk or entering the ports. An if vehicles are stopped or seen in these ports then the companies that run them are fined or prosecuted for letting stolen goods leave the uk via them.

Massive ports don't have the time or the resources to check every container leaving the port for export, that would take a hell of a lot of man power, truck's, xray scanners, it's just not practical plus it would cost a fortune because you would have to have men and truck's and container stackers doing that 24/7 and who's gonna pay for it. So your idea is not practical and it ain't as simple as xraying every single container 😂😂😂😂

@@theunemployedtrucker most vehicles are driven into the ports and put in containers so anpr at the port is needed. Plus every ports in the world of a first world country has X-ray machines for containers entering the port via a lorry. The ports in the uk need to get upto date with technology. An the ports need to be held accountable for a change. Making up reasons not to do it shows they don’t want to take responsibility. Stolen vehicles leaving the uk has been going on for over 50 years and it is the main way vehicles leave the uk that are stolen. So no reason they just have to do it or pay out to the person that has had the vehicle stolen instead of the insurance paying out.

I can't believe that people who can afford such high priced cars do not have tracking devices fitted to their vehicles , i do believe that a company called automatrics can track and trace a car or vehicle or a piece of plant within a day or so, and can normally recover it intact.

He made the usual mistake, not checking the identity checked belongs to the vehicle being sold. Checking a VIN or registration means nothing and companies offering such services tell you to check the vehicle has the correct identity.
