Wonderful! Knew a few, but not all! The hardest thing is buying these fragrances! I am definitely more of a shopper/smeller/buyer in-person and although we have one fragrance store in Philly that sells only niche! Perfumology! I have made one blind buy successfully and one buy after buying a very dear sample set from Ex Nihilo, which I find to be not well know here. Love Shot is sooooooo beautiful! Highly recommend! To me it is extremely feminine, but it has a unisex listing.

Great video! I confess that I kinda like my fragrance house to be underrated 😂! Lubin is fantastic and the history of the house and the “new era” is really interesting! Pierre Guillaume I adore. I feel all of the scents are really intellectual, there really is a story behind that I believe! Sisley and soir d’orient is beautiful, there is an animalic note there that really comes to life in the humidity! Peau d’ambrette I discovered with your ambrette video and it is fantastic, such a great take of an ambrette focused scent! I am going to jovoy today to give Jeroboam a try and smell the PMC line again, I only know santal du pacifique (the extrait is 😍)! Thank you again loved this one!

Thanks Seb! I love Musk. My other fav notes are Leather, Tobacco, Vanilla, Cherry (BDK Rouge Smoking), Cardamom, Mint and Patchouli. I may have forgotten some 😃. Love your videos. I discovered "Rosendo Mateu" from this video. I wanted an Amber and this has both Amber and Musk. Vow!

I think maybe there isn't a lot of talk about these houses and thus underrated is in part because there are so many niche houses now. It's a darn blur. Hard to remember names of houses let alone individual frags within houses. Plus the prices making them relatively inaccessible. I started my frag journey just 8 months ago and the only niche houses I have 5 or more bottles from so far is Creed and Floris. Tom Ford also but most consider that a designer house that behaves niche. I just received my first Amouage bottle today (Bracken Man). But the smaller even more niche-y houses at this point in my journey are a blur that is too difficult to digest.

Lots of fragrances to try, love Rosendo Mateu, Pierre Guillaume, The Harmonist and Lubin. Mauboussin is another that I didn't knew, after seeing your video of UNE HISTOIRE D'HOMME IRRÉSISTIBLE, I watched and old video with Dana of Cheapies that feauture Histoire d'Eau, I like the bottle design a lot, I just got it, the Fruity Booty is fantastic!!! Oh have you seen the magnificent home of the d'Ornano family? Oh. my. god. It's the most exquisite, theatrical, elegant, atmospheric thing you've ever seen. But I bring it up because I always urge people to study the photos of their home very, very carefully: they have super quirky, high-end art and antiques. Their 'coffee table' is a sculpture of Icarus falling into water and when you look up to the beautiful crown moulding details and ornate paintwork you see giant, completely realistic snails crawling up to the ceiling. Amazing! Such fun!

To keep track of what I like I rate my samples 1-5 (where 1 is what I would like to own). Last year I bought Pierre Guillaume's sample box (75 samples). Out of these 75 samples I rated 36 as a 5!! So yes, I really like this house! (I only rated three as a 4, and none as a 5). Faves: 02 Cozé 5.1 Suede Osmanthe 09 Yuzu Ab Irato 15.1 Hapyang Anti-Blues Aqaysos Hélioflora Liqueur Charnelle Shermine Swim/Sx (NB: the two last ones you mention from the house are newer than what came with my sample box, so I haven't tested them)

Terrific idea for a video! Thank you so much for this, I find other people's opinions fascinating-- especially if they clash with my own. Most stimulating and just so much fun when it's about matters of aesthetics and style sensibilities. Fragrance is an interesting one because of it's neurological aspect, so it's almost an entirely different category to just 'style and aesthetics', don't you reckon? Anyhow, quick question: why doesn't anybody in the "fragrance community" online EVER talk about 'Agonist'? That's one house that mustn't be around anymore, either that or they just don't generate much true love in consumers. I feel awkward even bringing this up. Has anybody else wondered about this? I've thought the exact same thing about Napoleon Perdis, who makes cosmetics: not a single KZbinr has ever mentioned this brand in their videos or tutorials and I've always wondered why. Again, am I the only one who's noticed this?! There must be an answer as to why beauty vloggers have COMPLETELY ignored NP for the entirety of the company's existence. Mysteries, mysteries...
