well it isn't a CGI trailer or a tech demo, but a full gameplay showcase, so it's clearly already being made possible. The only things you should be worried about is whether the consoles (and most PCs) can handle it.

It’s using the black desert engine so chances are this is how the game is. Though there is the idea that it might not run as smoothly on consoles as it does on PC. Black Desert has never run smoothly (at least for me) but since this is a single player version it has a-lot less to handle.

That's where you get tricked. Yes, it's gameplay but it 100% smells of vertical slice. And of course it's not a tech demo, which would be an extended "real time" gameplay playthrough, not a gameplay montage packed in less than 4 minutes. This is stuff to wow the investors and the public. It looks amazing, even more than it did in 2020. But how great all of this is is a huge question mark. This is a vertical slice trailer same as the DokeV one, which looked just as spectacular. Pearl Abyss has delivered one game before, so it's not like the fake demos for Black Myth Wukong where they barely have 3 levels developed. We know they're a legitimate studio. But how the final versions of DokeV and Crimson Dragon will end up being, and how good they will actually be(not just look), we won't know for sure until the games are actually out.@@unrealsimon93

My thoughts too! Every time I went “oh cool…” I also went “oh his hand clipped through the dog” or “the NPC faces look plastic and lack personality”. Cautiously optimistic about this one but hope they do a lot of polishing…

@@unrealsimon93 fair enough - I fully recognize that in a game of this scale we’re never going to reach my (or any player’s) definition of perfection and that’s ok. Trailers are typically a collection of carefully curated clips so if we’re seeing things that make us wince I’m making the leap that the things are likely far more widespread throughout the game. Maybe that’s too big an assumption to make at this stage, and perhaps I’m focusing on the wrong things but if glimpses make me wince this might not be the game for me OR my shared hope for ongoing polish is on point

Like, you can climb actually branches, pick up and pet cats, make mice follow you by playing music, you have sheep side missions, iron golems, mechanical dragons, Death Stranding, Valheim, Chivalry, RDR2, BG3, Zelda BOTW, Elder Scrolls, Witcher 3!? Like what the actual fk?! And it looks gorgeous! I can't wait to play this game and become a Druid with an army of mice and cats just absolutely wrecking face. I doubt that's possible, but I will do everything in my power to try.

Delayed since 2021...I like that, many games realease when announced just to have a lot of bugs and fail on expectations, only to be saved by several updates when it is possible to do it, like in No Mans Sky or in Cyberpunk 2077.
