Oof last game of Stellaris I never finished I was trying to play as the commonwealth of man In a large map with maximum vanilla empires. I tech rushed and got stronger so fast that I was already overwhelming to fallen empires right as endgame started. At that point I stopped taking planets and instead started cracking everything. The lag got so bad that an in-game year was taking 5mins on fastest so I just stopped playing. It felt like it was taking a century for my colossus to travel 4 systems over to crack a planet.

Aggressive Crisis Engine mod will let you configure the crisis and make them even stronger. Add on Giga Structures for 3 additional crisis. The Kaisar (Can ally with him on the lower settings.), the precursor fallen empire at the center of the galaxy, and the Blokkarts. Do note if your running giga structures only, run every crisis at its lowest difficulty setting as the higher settings are balanced around having a mod like Ancient Cache of Technologies/ACOT: beyond the gates.

@@arandomcommenter412 The game has something called gateways that basically allow you to TP your fleet from one gateway to any other one in your empire, this is actually pretty convenient as it allows you to have the initiative in most offensive wars cus your fleet can reinforce and move out of your capital in a matter of seconds while the enemy takes a lot of time moving from their capital to the frontier (If they are not making their own that is). They also connect trade routes so you can have a massive amount of centralized trade with a single trade node station Because they connect your entire empire together you can basically jump inside one and appear on the other side of your empire if an enemy suddenly declares war on you by surprise allowing you to reinforce your fortresses instantly They also DONT connect with enemy/occupied gateways so if the enemy takes one of your gateways, then tough luck for them, they cant use it to jump around your empire like a squirrel on crack

Just two jumps away from Earth I found a System with a nice size-25 planet, and the countdown-clock event turned one other planet there into a Gaiaworld. So I built an ecumenopolis on the big planet, moved my capital there and also built an Interstellar Assembly, so that this nice system with a metropolis, a paradise world as ''suburb'' for the elite and a center for galactic diplomacy could serve as a capital and hub for the galaxy. Turned out, not only the system, but the very planet I built the assembly over was a sterilization hub

@@sentreb9400 The crisis fired relativly late, so I had a gateway in the system and a fleet to match the theirs and therefore could defeat them before they landed on my planets themselves. The difficult part was that 1. Since I had no longer a starport in my capital system, I lost all my trade income and had to run a significant deficit for a few years until I had bombed down the sterilization hub and 2. Since I recalled my fleet to the capital, my outer borders were wide open for the caretakers, which had gone corrupted

In my current game, the first in a long time, those interdimentional invaders came to the galaxy right on my borders and destroyed the first world I colonized. Their rampage doesn't seem enough to convince any member of the Senate to support my bill to mobilize and counter them, even when their space stations are destroyed and their planets bombarded until they are as dead as the Moon. Instead, denouncing a purifier empire in the other side of the galaxy became the priority long ago, which completely bogs down the Senate. Oh Stellaris AI, I love to hate you.

Gigastructural Engineering addresses that. The Blokkats are noted to have shattered a vast organic hivemind in their home galaxy and fragments of that have been running ever since. It's not perfect and I'd love to see a multistage crisis for the scourge like you can get if the Unbidden stick around long enough.

@@alexandredupont1966 GE has 3 additional crisis factions: Kaiser Blokkats and the Compound, tho as far as I know Compound is disabled at the moment. They're all really fun, although dont run them at higher difficulties unless you have insane mods like ancient cache of technologies

I have a short Stellaris plot I was planning to make into a story, but it probably works better in this format. An empire starts on a ringworld and tanks its energy production in favor of early science production to the point its never recoverable (until maybe the very late game). Its a basic game engine abuse, that can have some hilarious interpretations. > An army sent out to subjugate a primitive world has to fight in melee as blasters don't have energy (-75% army damage modifier) > Trying to get an edge in a war, empire "turns on the lights" for a month or two, immediately breaking all the rivalries (everyone involved becomes "pathetic"). Galaxy newspapers proclaiming the birth of new crisis, alliances are born and broken up and chaos ensues. Then energy runs out and everything goes back to normal, including having to send off envoys to harm relationships to rebuild rivalries. > Empire tries to overcome energy deficiency by building Dyson's sphere, only to find out that its not nearly enough (year120 I had -6k energy production iirc). But the resort world now finally has hot water in taps on Sundays. Happy end.

Man I just had my very first crisis against the Unbidden and I'm so disappointed (It’s my 1st full playthrough). I put the Crisis Strength at 5x and they got clapped by the AI Fleet. By the time I arrive with my 6 300k power BB fleet, only 5 30k power fleet remained. They never got out 4 jumps out from their spawn space. Either I put the end year way too late (at 2500) or I need to crank up the crisis strength way higher.

xD Nice. Can you do one with a modded playthrough next? Giga structures + Ancient Cache Of Technologies or Zenith Of The Fallen Empires are good ones since they add so much more. Blokkarts are kinda insane with giga structures, and I'm sure you could have some fun with the birch world xD. Or the Kaisar for midgame. Hes amazing since you can ally with him as the player, and he is actually really strong vs a crisis. Plus for ACOT you have the Stellarborne, and the player becoming basically a god. Bonus, you get to make some fun quips about how absurd the gigastructure engineering gets xD.
