INGREDIENTS :
1 cup Urad Dal (Black Lentil)
¼ tsp pepper powder
2 chopped green chilies
1 tbsp chopped ginger
2 tbsp chopped coconut
Few fresh curry leaves chopped
Salt to taste
METHOD:
Wash and soak urad dal for 4-5 hours. Drain the water completely after soaking. Grind the soaked urad dal with salt in a mixer to smooth fluffy and thick batter. Batter consistency is very important to make perfect bonds. Once ground transfer the paste into a bowl.
Add in finely chopped green chillies, ginger, finely chopped curry leaves, chopped coconut pieces, salt and mix well.
Heat up the oil for deep frying. Dip your hand in water (To prevent the batter from sticking to your fingers.), take a small amount of batter using your fingers and drop lemon sized batter into the oil.
Deep fry on medium heat until the bondas are golden brown then increase flame to high and fry for 1-2 minutes to become crispy outside and soft inside.
Once done remove and drain kitchen tissue paper. Repeat the process with the rest of the batter.
Serve hot with sambar or any chutney and Enjoy!
