I’m learning that Mauler thinks everything is black and white and completely categorized individually. You can have a complete story in the lord of the rings and have all the pay offs and lessons and everything you could ask for, doesn’t negate the fact that there would still be life to live after the ending of the books/movies. It also doesn’t negate the fact that some people are gonna wonder what that life would look like in a more realistic sense. That doesn’t make it bad to want to dissect a complete story further, it just doesn’t make a complete story now incomplete.

13:19 -I have to strongly disagree with you two about the "Angrboda issue" in God of War Ragnarök. No, they can't get away with this. Angrboda was never described with "dark skin" in the Norse mythology. That never happened. She would have looked - as a human - like the Scandinavians - who created her, no different to the other characters. In European art she was often portrayed as a white/pale woman with brown/ginger hair. What they did here is to purposefully race swap her and culturally appropriate her character and the frost giants' entire story, and that's without mentioning the "Americanization" of some of the characters' defining personality traits, especially Odin. There's no justification to do what they did which was directly related to "The Massage" and to American identity politics. Even her VA admitted this was related to "representation" and "diversity" in an interview after winning a political award for portraying what was easily the worst character in the worst part in the game. In total, they race swapped 3 characters! and they also distorted the way the remaining different realms looked like making them more "international looking", instead of representing a more appropriate fantasy and/or European settings. None of these "changes" happened in the first game which actually had a great visual and cultural representation of all the characters and the different realms that were shown as part of the first game.

@@chapman2001 And? You don't care for the VA - the one who acted this role - being interviewed and explaining the position of the writers and the company when it comes to this character? She got the award because of the fact, and it's a fact that her character was changed because of DEI politics for pure "representation" and "diversity"! It was revealed in a way you can't deny, considering the writers or the company themselves did not contradict her claims. The race swaps were a clear political decision that was made to get political results and that "prestigious" award for the VA was just one of them. There's no legitimate creative justification for the cultural appropriation they committed in this game, none. Can they do that? yes, they could race swap all the characters if they wanted to, it's in their right to "interpret" this world however they want even if it makes no sense, but I as a costumer - and a fan of the first game - will still call them out on their bad creative and/or politically motivated decisions. A few months before the game came out, one of writers themselves had the nerve to actually try and gaslight the fans on Twitter, blaming them for racism and bigotry for calling out the race swaps in the upcoming game, but that was before the game came out and before the company's DEI motivated actions were fully exposed by the reveal of their "creative" collaboration with "Sweet Baby Inc", which exposed the true reasoning for all of the weird "unnecessary" creative changes in the sequel, when compared to the first game.

So no, not african - more like the ice king guy in Game of Thrones. Their is NO mention of black people in the Prose Edda, because vikings were NOT aware africans existed.... The first black person to enter Scandinavia was a slave named Gustave Badin, who arrived in Sweden in 1757. Just because Ragnarok wasn’t entirely woke doesn’t mean we should just excuse the woke elements. It’s okay to call out unnecessary race swaps every single time they do it. Calling the entire game woke is wrong but saying it’s not woke at all is also wrong. We have to keep their paws out of it and that means noticing what they’re doing and telling them to stop right away, not excusing it.

Legally Blonde is one of the better of the quirky ditsy comedies aimed mainly at teenager girls and is carried by Reese Witherspoon doing what was back the default Reese Witherspoon type of film. I watched at the time with my then girlfriend and I did laugh a couple of times but the plot was so obvious like Sweet Home Alabama was (we had a rule I'd choose one film to and next time she choose). Of the films from that era of her career that really worth checking out is Election (fantastic Matthew Broderick performance) and Pleasantville which is one of top 10 favourite films.

Angrboda being black is like 2% of Ragnarok's wokeness In GoW 4 WARRIORS WERE MEN, AS THEY HAVE BEEN FOR ALL OF HISTORY AS THEY ARE NOW AND AS THEY ALWAYS WILL BE IN ALL GOOD REALITIES. The savage midgard raiders, the undead draugr warriors and the warrior-like creatures were all men! GoW 5 COMPLETELY changes this to where gender just doesn't affect one's role in combat, which for one is a disgusting attitude towards women, when I was playing Valhalla and chopping a woman's arms off I didn't feel like a noble warrior, I felt like Patrick Bateman, and secondly completely recontextualizes the antagonists. When war is the domain of men it's fine to have a story about Masculine evil because it shows men are responsible for protecting and can fail at that, becoming tyrannical and evil, but when men aren't special at all because women can protect just as well, now that "Toxic Masculinity" (words Mimir lliterally uses to describe Odin, Thor, Magni, and Modi) is the only thing in the game special about men, making the whole world that has been built fundamentally anti-man. You might think "Shut up, just look at Kratos and how the game values his fathering of Atreus" but none of that is about fatherhood, just about parenthood. In every way, Freya is portrayed as the superior parent, she did most of Atreus' raising, taught him to hunt, fished, and even beat Thor in combat (I hate how they try to tell a grounded story about an alcoholic racist 400 pound man, then have a women defeat him during one of his drunken rages, try that irl and it'll end much more tragically), something Kratos failed to do. Lysandra was a far better character, who was completely right in her critique of Kratos' conquest but didn't have to be a "Bad-ass" because that's not what women are. Consider as well the main characters in the Game's conflict and their morality compared to their gender. The diverse Vanaheim group, made up of plenty of women and even a norse-black(?) man are completely morally righteous, while the Asgardian gods Are all white, with the males (Heimdall, Odin, Thor, Maqni, and Modi) all being evil (I guess Thor decides to not be so bad for literally 2 seconds) And the 2 women being good, Thrud being cartoonishly good compared to her siblings, and Syf having been good for 20-something years and desperately trying to get her stupid husband to reject his Toxicly masculine upbringing. And of course there's Freya, the villain of the last game who selfishly kept her son from ever living so that she wouldn't lose him, and inevitably loses him regardless. Ragnarok choses to focus almost entirely on her forgiving Kratos, and reflecting on how she's been victimized by Odin, rather than her accepting that SHE was the one who took the life from her own son, and Kratos only put down the monster she created. She should have been forced to realize this and been reduced to a sobbing mess by the realization she failed as a mother and that there's no one to blame for her child's death but herself (much like Kratos at the end of GoW). GoW5 instead spends hours in the main story and side quests whining about how she's been victimized by the toxicly masculine Odin, and how she's so sad because Kratos 'killed' her son, which is the WORST version of woke, that intense focus on Victimhood and how SHE's been wronged. Ultimately I just want one of you damn Europeans to acknowledge that there was a complete shift in gender roles between 4 and 5, and maybe you're okay with it, maybe you see no difference between killing men and women, but at least acknowledge the change was made, and that that might be why a large portion of people consider God of War Ragnarok to be "woke." I for one hate it, a world where there's no clear difference between roles of each gender isn't a world I give a damn about saving, let ragnarok destroy the nine realms, at least Sparta kept it's women behind high walls manned by men with spears. This whole "Angrboda is black in the Eddas" nonsense is the same as when they tried to justify a fat Thor in the games as well: "he's described as eating a lot in the Eddas!" He wasn't, though. He was *drinking* in a competition, and it was (unknown to him) sea water. Loki was the one who ate in the competition, and it was *meat*, not pastries. Further, the use of "black" in the Eddas are a reference to one's nature (like the Svartalfr) or the Draugr, who had "black skin" (or blue) - but only becuase they were dead (and even then, also described as "corpse-pale").

Ragnarok isn’t bad because of the whole sweet baby inc or woke bullshit, it’s bad because the combat is atrocious and tedious, there’s no reason why it should take more than 2 hits to kill a drauger, there are 3 weapons in the game that do not feel any different from each other and they all feel like slapping an enemy with a wet noodle. The camera is way too close to kratos back so you can’t see anything on the battlefield, imagine playing the Arkham games and the camera never leaves Batman’s back. The fight with heimdall makes no sense, he’s supposed to be a god who can see everything but can’t see the exploding spear next to his feet? And there’s another boss fight that is the most unfair broken thing imaginable, this game is literally not designed for that kind of boss fight (don’t remember the name of the boss but it’s the one with 3 spirits in the snowy ice area). The “game” focuses too much on story and less on gameplay, 80% walking and talking is horrible game design, the story becomes rushed in the third act, aside from kratos and brok, none of the characters are likable and even kratos is pushing. The game even thinks you’re an idiot by having boy tell you how to solve the puzzle every 3 seconds. It’s a “game” that so desperately wants to be a movie. Go play the original trilogy, aside from graphics, 3 literally does everything 2018 and ragnarok do but better

I understand that ragnarok is good, and the writing itself isn't woke... but they made a nordic frost giant *black*. That doesn't bother you, even a little bit? I accept that sure, maybe it doesn't take anything away from the writing or the story but... it *is* a ridiculous race change that's simply an objective fact.

Eventually it will be straight White men will that are going to be the underrepresented ones in the movie industry. What are they going to do then because they will need to make something good then and actually make some money from the movies and shows they are making 😂 We started saying the far far left about a year ago so keep it up guys and it’ll catch on, definitely more of a change than fetch if you get the reference.

Again Mauler misses the point of mine and others problems with Chris Gore, he wants to act like you guys and have a critical mind but falls for nostalgia baiting every single time. He lied about ass shots in the film and made that a big part of his recommendation. He still wants to be apart of Hollywood bro, he talks about his Hollywood friends and his old days in Hollywood and his recommendation of The Flash was hypocrisy in wanting good filmmaking and supporting bad. He gave a review like all the other shills did and that’s what we have a problem with. Hes a hack. We see through it.

Not going to lie, I could not stand Guardians 1 when I saw it (though admittedly it has been almost 10 years at this point and I have not rewatched it). Even back then, Marvel humour just never appealed to me. I found most of the characters (especially Chris Pratt) to be annoying, the villain was forgettable and the plot was so utterly predictable, you could at any time say down to the minute when the next generic plot beat would happen. I looked at my watch right after the prison escape hoping the film was nearing its ending and became despondent to see it had only been about 30 minutes. Guardians 2 was a huge step up in my eyes. Haven't seen Guardians 3 and unfortunately, I just don't care enough about the MCU anymore to bring myself to watch it.

And here I thought I was the only one who thought that movie was annoying and bland. I also marked it as things starting to go wrong with the franchise (though admittedly I never saw Dark World or Iron Man 3, so can't comment on that), pretty much because of the overbearing weight of comedy and rapid fire introduction of so many new characters (characters who are nearly all laden with quippy one liner style dialogue, making them all the same). And where are we now? Absolutely drowning in Marvel humor and too many characters to invest in even if they were good, with new characters completely crowding out the old ones.

I'm getting really tired of Mauler's coping and seething over god of soy. It was a bad, woke, boring game. I'm also getting tired of his gaslighting when it comes to synthetic man. He keeps saying synthetic didn't play the game when he obviously didn't pay attention to synths video. Synthetic man's main argument was about the fact the damn game was mostly cutscenes and loading screens, he really didn't go as hard on the story as it honestly deserved.

Nah Synthetic man is still a retard and the game isn’t entirely woke and is still a very good game. It just has woke elements creeping in that cannot be excused because by doing that it only makes things worse. Don’t jump to extremes because it has something you don’t like in it.
