This is good opportunity to remind people that the very first police unit in Britain was made for the purpose of protecting the royal family from their angry tax victims. I dunno I thought she was good in Murder on the Orient Express. I think she's being picked on because because they made her a Mary Sue in some of the worst Star Wars movies ever made. She does the intro and outro for a popular podcast and until she identifies herself you don't really know it's her. She kind of shows an ability for voice work in general to me. I actually tried to watch that movie The Bubble and her cameo appearance was one of the best things in it. I don't know, I've never heard her bitch about the Patriarchy and do the "femenist" thing. With all the criticism of the Disney Star Wars shit I never heard her personally call fans toxic. Okay the best actress to come out of the whole Disney Star Wars abomination if you wanna call it may be Felecity Jones in Rogue One. But I don't know. I've seen some interviews with Ridley and outside of Star Wars she seems charming. Especially these days with ungrateful shits like Rachel Zegler .

As Drinker rightly points out, John McClane made it look HARD. He only just barely succeeds and dumb luck plays a big part. The thing about Die Hard was that back in '88 nobody thought Bruce Willis, a comedy actor from TV, could carry an action movie and the movie slightly under-performed as result. It only really found its audience on home video. Bruce Willis was cast as a non-traditional action movie lead because John McTiernan wanted a character who was vulnerable and human. Sly or Arnie (who were no doubt considered for the role at some point) would have made for a lesser film.

Daisey Ridley needs to fire her agent. Probably has the same agent as Henry Cavill
@VolkbrechtАй бұрын
Ah, come now, when everything is shit nothing is ;) At least she got another job, didn't she? There are so many actresses around these days, and Daisy's just a rather average chick that can act. So she's probably happy to stay somewhat relevant.
@terrylandess6072Ай бұрын
@@Volkbrecht If only she would show that pucker power on screen instead of backroom film deals.
@aulvinduergard9952Ай бұрын
@@Volkbrecht Exactly. Daisy has got to have the hardest working agent in Hollywood, because Daisy can't act to save her life but she keeps getting jobs.
@TreblaineАй бұрын
She cannot act, she can barely read lines. The fact she has any career at all means her agent is performing miracles. It's Cavill who is being betrayed, massively held back where he should be doing way better.
@kicknowledgesmith8608Ай бұрын
She's doing better than Cavil if you look at IMDB. He really has nothing outside of Superman and Witcher, where he's the lead.

Modern writers just do not understand what made these types of movies compelling. It wasn't because of all the explosions and cursing. The characters were well fleshed out and compelling. This character does not seem to be either one.
@blindlobsterАй бұрын
I wonder how many of the writers of the film were men who actually enjoyed action films. 0? (I'm not going to bother to find out.)
@javicpt98Ай бұрын
@blindlobster I'll have to agree with you. More than likely the writers consumed clips rather than a full story. This character seems to tick every box of an "action hero". Non assuming, low key job, not wanting to be a hero, a perceived problem in which theory brother is an antagonist, couldn't hack it in the army, etc. They probably brainstormed and shit out a script.

Hollywood forcing Daisy Ridley and Tom Holland to be action heroes just because they are popular actors....will NEVER work out. It always looks cringe and awkward. They simply are not the type. They should be in family freindly movies and musicals.
